in my unprofessional opinion would say ligament damage. sounds like may be overall issue and would have your doctor work with you on it and check out all major joints. maybe a lack of a vitamin or mineral. or something more serious

you might have arthritis or restless leg syndrome. The best thing you can do is not sit on your legs. And make sure if you sit for long periods of time to always stretch every so often.

Hi,

I think you may have some calcium build up around your joint & cartilages. I have bad knees too sometimes when I go down stairs they crack and are painful. I have been using a supplement called Glucosamine & Chondroitin with Manganese and Vitamin C. I am amazed at how it helps. It can be found at the health food stores or drug store.

My brother had laproscopic knee surgery (which is the minimally invasive type of surgery) and he also had it on his shoulder to eliviate the pain he was having. It may be a sort of arthritis, which is very common. For me, and some of my friends...the supplement really helps and it is harmless, but you might call and ask your MD if he would approve before you try it.

Good Luck,
Tristique
