If i went to the doctors for my dislocated elbow, how much pain would there be?

Im pretty sure i dislocated my elbow. I cant fully stretch it out or bend it. My wrist hurts a little but besides that nothing else hurts.

– Can it fully heal with home treatment? How long would this take?
– If the doctors put it back, how would they do it and how painful?

It’s like a dislocated shoulder only not as painful. I’ve fixed both on friends. For the elbow I hold the upper arm just above the elbow on the bicep. With the other hand I pull the forearm away from my other hand to stretch the joint. There’s a little cartilage that got stuck so this allows it to go back into place. Then while still keeping the joint a little stretched I bend the forearm over my other hand. That’s it. Then you have to be careful not to stress out the joint until the inflammation goes away. Keep in mind I did this only in cases where the it just happened. Just like the shoulder, you want to get it fixed before the swelling becomes a problem. I also reset my own dislocated jaw (hockey puck to the side of my chin) in a similar way. Don’t be afraid to go to the doctor. It’s not a big deal. Don’t let somebody at home try it on you if they haven’t done it before and screw up your elbow.

If you had dislocated your elbow you would already be at the Doctors. Best of Luck

Any sort of dislocation should be put back in by a doctor. And should be done as soon as you can get to one. There are lots of issues that can occur in regard to nerves and blood vessles and all sorts of stuff that you just wouldn’t know how to look for.

Really hope you went to the doctor! The pain of the moment is worth it in the end!
