No - you can still call your vet but it's just normal wear and tear.

i wouldn't worry about it right now. Since the fur is white, it's easy to mistake red skin spots as bruises and infections. my white lab has had those similar spots since we got him, and the vet says they're nothing wrong. if your dog starts to limp or not want to walk around, then i would call the vet. if not, it's just like the skin on our elbows. dry and cracked, but fine.

I would take her to the vet. If you can't then put a glob of NEOSPORIN on it and bandage it up with gause and doctor tape but don't put the tape directly on the red spot or on her fur because it will tear her poor hair out. Just kind of tightly but not real tight wrap the tape around the gause and leave on for four hours then take off to air out. Do it again in about two or three more hours later. If it starts to work then continue doing it. It should help her after the first dose but really noticeably after the second dose. Try it. It should help alot. If not then don't continue doing it, but it should.

I have a Black Lab and he got the same thing on his elbows. It started out looking like he got hurt or bitten and eventually it turned into what looks like a calus. My vet told me it was normal because when he lays down he rubs either elbow on a hard floor, carpeting, tile, deck wood, concrete, grass or whatever else he lays down on! At times I rub some vaseline on them but he usually licks it off anyway.

Just to be safe you should see what your vet says! Good luck!
