Tennis Elbow?
I had tendonitis on the inner side of my elbow, and had to wear one of them , tennis elbow straps. I play racquetball, but i thought this question would qualify for the ‘tennis" section. it has been about 4 months, maybee more since i have picked up a racquet, would it help my elbow if i wore the tennis elbow strap thingy while i play or hurt it?

If the pain is in the inner side of your elbow, it might be "golfer’s elbow" instead of "tennis elbow" (where the pain originates from the outside of the elbow).
Nonetheless, treatment for both are the same: Taking a break from the activity (which it sounds like you have done); warming up the area before activity (running it under warm water or using a heating pad); icing it after the activity (15-20 minutes); taking a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofin); and using a forearm compression strap.
That being said, if it doesn’t get better, definitely see an orthopedist/physical therapist. Also, check with a racquetball specialist to see if a change in technique or equipment can help ease your elbow problems.
hmmm i suggest you not wait till its completley healed then start plaing you dun wanna mess ursle fup even more than it is….just ice, heat and compress… if it gets serious go to a doctor
Use a newer lighter racquet. I had a 230 gm racquet which caused tennis elbow. Two things are important, weight and torsion. A lighter racquet will solve the problem, will compromise some power but you can compensate. Do not stop playing. I used a tennis elbow strap and it helped a little for about 2-3 weeks (played 3/week) after that, it was a hinderance and I took it off. My new stick is a More Dominant Ektelon but try out different racquets - eForce are great and I wish I had bought one.
wait until its healed……thats the best way..
I have a version of tennis elbow too. It would definately be a good idea to wear a compression band around it because once youve injured the tendon theres a higher risk of hurting it again.
