What are good forearm and wrist exercises for tennis?

During volleys, my wrist tends to collapse. My coach says I need to squeeze the racket upon contact in order to prevent this. But, sometimes, I feel really weak by the end of practice and I feel that muscle build-up would be benefical. Thoughts? Thanks.

Take a used wore out tennis ball and squeeze it in your hand. It will build up the muscle on your arm.

What I did back in the days were I took dumbbells, and I would hold them with the palm facing the sky, put my arms on the knee, and lift the weights with just the wrist. This worked on my forearm a lot. I started off with 15 then went up to 30 pounds. I say start around 5-10 pounds if it’s too light. You could also try the "nut cracker" to improve your grip. It’s the acute looking bars that you squeeze together. Good luck and don’t hurt yourself.

Wrist curls. Look it up. Use dumbbells or resistance bands.
