How to treat and get rid of Tennis Elbow?

I’m a BOXER and have been for about 4 years now. But I recently started to get a pain in my right elbow every timee I extend it fully. But the pain onlyoccurss when I miss. When I hit the bag it feels fine. I used to play a lot of tennis when I was younger… I was wondering if any can help? Thanks.

i bag for a total of 3 hours a day 20 minutes at a time take boxing off for 7 weeks sorry but if you dont your likely to delay the healing so than 1 hours of warm wash cloth each day to sooth than even if it feel better wait those weeks because there are things that need to heal still trust me besides you deserve the break 4 years of boxing isnt a walk in a park on a sunny day its actually work

Go to a Sportmedicine Orthopedic MD (every big city or college town has university city hospitals).
Check phone book for orthopedic surgeon-sportsmedicine specialty. When you see the doctor, ask for a referral to a good sports physical therapist with experience treating lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).

They can do ultrasound over it to soften and break up the scar tissue in that muscle and tendon. Deep friction massage over the insertion of the muscle to do the same. They can show you wrist extensor stretching execises, eccentric strengthening exercises to strengthen these muscles in an elongated postion and muscle bracing you can use to relieve stress on the elbow joint while you box. Regular doctors will only treat the pain with medication, rest, ice and heat, discontinue your activities. But sportsmedicine doctors and Sports Physical Therapists will not do passive treatment; they will do the active treatment you are seeking and not tell you to just rest and stop boxing for a period of time.

Hope this helps. Been there, done that many times with many tennis elbow patients.
