Sports like tennis, racquetball, squash, golf, and yes, weight lifting put a lot of stress on the elbow. Sounds like you have a repetitive stress injury. It’s not an emergency as it develops over time. You may be lifting too much weight – never lift more than your weakest arm can handle. Or your technique may need to be altered. Poor technique can cause all kinds of hurts and injuries.
Treat those overuse injuries with RICE therapy: rest, ice, compression, and elevation. Rest the affected area, do not use or bear weight (standing, walking, etc.), until evaluated by someone. Apply a cloth-covered ice pack to the affected area for no more than 20 minutes at a time, 4 to 8 x a day. Apply a tensor (elastic) bandage to the area to help reduce swelling. The affected part should be elevated so it is 12 inches above the heart to help reduce swelling. Seek medical help if the condition gets worse or does not respond to a couple of weeks of rest. It’s a common injury so ask the trainers at your gym what worked best for them. And how long you need to lay off the weights in order to heal. Yes, you have to! lol!
Medications, such as aspirin, acetaminophen, or NSAIDs (Advil) help to reduce swelling.

Sounds like tendonitis. Rest,Ice, compression and elevation for it..probably need to take a break from the lifting until it heals. acitpatch might help it to heal a bit faster
