Why Does My Elbow Hurt After Throwing a Baseball?

Why does my elbow hurt after throwing a baseball? I am 17 and I play center field. I always stretch before I warm up and during warm ups I do longtoss. After awhile my elbow would hurt a bit. Then after we do fielding practice my elbow is really sore from throwing. When I lift up my arm it’s a bit shaky. After a couple hours my elbow will feel fine until I throw again.

I don’t know if I’m throwing wrong or not because my elbow was fine a couple weeks ago.

So what am I doing wrong?

    To eliminate a medical problem, see your doctor. Have video shot of yourself throwing. When you play it back you can slow it down frame by frame. It sounds to me like you may be "short arming" while you throw. When you go to throw, you need to "T" out, which means your glove is towards the target and your throwing arm is pointed away. When you short arm, you will curve your arm back up towards you head prior to delivery, thus causing you to whip your arm to get it around. This causes an extreme amount of torque which is indicated by elbow pain. Video is your best tool.

    Honestly it might be that your arm is telling you your not inshape. Im not saying your fat or anything but try running a mile everyday outside of practice it helped me.

    It only takes one bad throw to get something out of whack in there. Then repeated throwing just makes it worse and worse. You probably need to rest it. Only a doctor can tell you for sure though.

    yea a think minor tendonitis. icy hot works nice but you are also might be throwing wrong if your elbow hurts. make sure your arm is coming all the back to make a 90 degree angle let your wrist drupe make sure its like your trying to show someone the ball. when you throw (im i righty) use your left arm as power and pretend like your elbowing someone in the gut and let your arm come thru then following comes the hip. i hope this makes sense and helps! good luck!

    My elbow has been really hurting lately. My pitching coach told me to eat a banana everyday for potasium. As well as running for 5 mins. after a game. It gets the blood flowing and will ease the pain in the elbow.
