When tossing the ball, hurl it up as high as you can into the air. Then jump to about where the ball is landing, and smash for all you’re worth.

These serves are called tall guy serves. I invented it.

At your level, I think you need some private lessons focused on your serve improvement. Then, you just need to practice it religiously for a while before it will pay off. Even now, if you practice your serve for 30-45 minutes every day, you’ll improve it’s consistency and placement, which is probably even more important than its speed.

You aren’t going to get a satisfactory answer here for a question like that unless some tour pro coach is going to chime in. It depends on how dedicated you are to your game — you will need to hire a serve coach. Getting more speed comes from generating more power on the ball which comes from full extension, ball out in front, springing your legs, and flattening out your racket. If you are not up to hiring a coach, you’ll just have to go out there and experiment on your own.

Don’t listen to Mr. Ball toss. You don’t have to hurl the ball up as high as you can. Just get your toss to be about 2 feet above where you plan on making contact.

    Serve:
When you toss the ball, bend your legs and arch your back, then explode up.
Make sure your ball toss is the 2 feet above contact point
When going into "back scratch" position, right before you explode up, drop the racket as low as possible, then as you explode with your legs, explode with your arm and accelerate your racket to the ball
A good wrist snap is key to a powerful serve.

Don’t give up if this doesn’t work the first few times, as it takes time to get used to the timing.

Also, don’t neglect the kick serve; tall players using the kick serve get extra pace, consistency and kick added to an already effective serve.
