ice your arm ever night whether you play or not. And coming from a ball player who has been playing for 11 to 12 years, it is never to late to switch your type of throw. I was a sidearmer too and sounds like i had the same problem as you currently have. My High School coaches saw my side arm and they noticed the power i possessed in my arms and body. They taught me a new way to throw and i increase speed and distance. But back to your question ice it like crazy. And stretch it as much as you can before using it.

You should drink a drop of Holy-water blessed by a Catholic priest, Many claim this is the cure to many sicknesses.
Aspirin will help if it is too bad.

Soak your arm in cold water and use a cold pack on it to reduce swelling if you have any. Also you can use a heat pack to relieve pain. hope this helps.
