What are some exercises I can do to improve Agility?

I’m looking to start playing tennis and some other sports and I want to improve my agility. Things like lateral movement, starting/stopping, turning quickly, bending, jumping, etc. I can be pretty clumsy and trip over myself. What are some exercises I can do? I’m thinking things like suicides? Anything else?

    Well, to tell the truth, what you just said is exactly what you need to do. Doing something over and over again is how you’re gonna improve. It gets you used to the feeling and comfortable with the motion. Lateral movement is a good one. You’ll need that for tennis. Try going out on the street (not a busy one) and spread your arms out near the ground and mark with chalk at each hand. This length is great to start out with. But go back and forth moving laterally from line to line. Try to time yourself. And try to beat your time every time you do it. Try not to keep your foot on the ground for too long.

    And a hint with running lines, when you get to the line, start turning around right when you get there and when your foot is ON the line, Pick your other foot off the ground. It helps keep your body in a running motion rather than stopping at each line. That just slows you down. And to help with agility altogether, go through some obstacle courses. Go to a nearby park with a playground and tell your friends to make one up for you. This sounds silly but it’s actually fun and it helps strengthen your agility as you go through all kinds of motions to get through the course. Hope this helps 🙂

    It also depends on ur footwork and stance, like in tenis u want to be in a stance where u will be able to run quickly side to side and ya for agility jogging can help like make a routine where u do 1 lap one day and 2 laps the other day what I mean by that is slowly slowly increase the number of laps and the speed of ur joging don’t keep on running at one speed for days. increase ur pace slowly
