Why have I been waking up with a sore arm continuously for 2 weeks?

For the past 2 weeks or so I have been waking up with a really sore arm on my right side from the shoulder to elbow. I have always slept on my right side and never had a problem like this before. I have tried to sleep in different positions but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I have been up for about an hour and it is still sore. I’m really fed up with it and need to figure out what to do. Any ideas?

  1. Japanese_Sword_Collector says:

It could be just that you’ve been laying on top of it all night, putting more pressure on it than you usually do when you’re sleeping on your right side. I do that sometimes too – would literally wake up with my arm completely under my body and it would hurt. Not sure how you could prevent yourself from laying on top of your arm though when you’re shifting positions while asleep. I have read about a trick to prevent someone from laying on their back (which contributes to snoring) which might help if it could be modified for your arm – you’d sew a tennis ball or something hard like that into the seat of your pajamas or lower back area and it would be so uncomfortable to lay on your back that you’d shift to a different position.

  2. I have the same problem and it has been going on for months. Wish I knew what it was, maybe some one has an answer.
