Why does my arm hurt after I get done throwing a football several times?

After about 5 throws with a football my upper arm starts to hurt. Usually from my elbow to my shoulder.
I’m pretty new to football also. Can you tell me why it hurts and/or how to prevent it?

if you play baseball this may be because your throwing it like a baseball this would always happen to me

Your exercising your arm man. don’t worry, it will stop hurting quickly over time.

if you didn’t stretch then that is part of your problem, so stretch and the reason is because your arm is new to extending that far, and as you start foot ball wear something to support your elbow as you throw it.

    Good Luck!!

I have been playing football for 4 years. I am a linebacker and running-back. Im to short to play QB but i have an arm. The motion that you use to the football will always require you to lift your arm and by doing this you will get an annoying feeling on your shoulder probably on your top part of your arm. To avoid this always strech to become more flexible and do this work out: 1) throw 10 passes to someone standing 20 yards away from you 2) throw 15 passes to someone 35 yards away from you 3) if you can throw five passes to someone 50+ yards away from you and remember its all in the footwork. After the work out stretch your arm and throw 2 passes as far as you can!
As far as why your harm hurts is that your body mostly your arm isnt use to have that consective throwing motion. Trust me if you want to get better work on those 3 things and footwork and you will be good to go.

I used to have it too. But, once I started to stretch, it started to go. Your body also needs to get used to it
