My throwing elbow hurts and i don't know why?

I’m 15 yrs old and I’ve been a pitcher all my life. but recently, when i pitch, my inner elbow starts to get sore after about 2 or 3 innings.
right now I’m just trying to play through it and hope that maybe its growing pains. Any suggestions for why my elbow could be hurting would be nice.
oh yeah, i don’t throw side arm

    Don’t ignore that pain!

If it hurts, then you need to do something, even if that means sitting out a practice, or a few innings.

The truth is that at your age, there is a dramatic change in how sports are viewed and played. Coaches switch from elementary coaching (the basic how-to and focusing on form) to a more advanced approach that focuses on strength and pushing the body to be the best it can be.

There are a lot of causes that may have resulted in your pain, but the most probable is that your technique is off. Ask your coach if you’re doing something wrong.

Another reason would be muscle imbalance. Sometimes when you are using your larger muscles (biceps, triceps, etc) a lot, the smaller muscles around the joints, as well as the tendons, get ignored. And the larger muscles can overpower the smaller ones which cause them to become displaced and altogether weakened.

If you are really worried about the pain, and really serious about baseball, ask your parents about seeing a physical therapist about the pain. Or there might be someone at your school.

During practice and games, I would suggest getting some ice on the elbow, this is help with swelling of the joint and will limit the pain. I would also suggest icing it after practice for at least 20 minutes.

Hope this helps and good luck with it!

i think the poster above me is correct, you are getting a little older, and your arm is just plain getting sore, you’re either going to have to deal with it, or rest your arm…you should weight train and make it stronger so that your arm doesnt get sore as quickly.
