I have had this. When it was really bad- your pain sounds bad- the only way it got better was to not use the arm for anything (not even to pick up a container of milk or carry my handbag) for 1 week.
The other thing I found helpful was an adjustable athletic band to fix just above my elbow. You can get these at CVS. You can also try using a little ice pack, on and off, and over the counter NSAIDs to help with pain and swelling.

You have tight tendons in your arm to cause tennis elbow and they should be released to get rid of the pain so you can use it again. With injections, or even painkilling pills, the pain is masked over so you don’t know that you are hurting yourself worse than things already are. While the pain is blocked for that short period of time you go back to doing what you did and it only makes the problem worse as you make it do things that if you were feeling them you never would have done. It’s the best way I know of to make a bad situation worse and I think it’s one of the worst things the medical world has come up with yet. It also certainly guarantees the dr.’s more work in one way or another. And they are getting rich wrecking your health.
