Why does my right elbow hurt while doing chest exercises?
Sometimes when I do pushups or bench press, i feel tension on my right elbow. Its not much of a pain, but it bothers me enough that i cant even do a rep. I dont think its about the weight either because sometimes while I do warmups for benching, i use the bar only, and even doing that would bother my right elbow. Does anyone know the reason behind this??

How long have you been doing pushups? There could be several reasons why you are experiencing this pain.
1. You need to work out smarter and NOT harder. You probably are doing it wrong, you need to focus on your technique.
British army push ups state that a push up has the elbows locked in at the side of the body. You extend the arms nearly locking out at the top, and you compress down to where your chest is one fist width away from the floor. If you do them, it works your triceps and chest bloody hard.
The way you’re doing them puts lots of pressure on your shoulders more than your chest. as such, your joints are being relied on to be the levers. If you cant do the close arms push up. do a wide stance (as you’re doing) but make sure that your arms come out from your body more like 70degrees. For men, make your hands be in line with your nipples, just as you would for a bench press.
If you’re still finding it hard, try doing the press ups from your knees, then once your ligaments and muscles grow stronger, work up to press ups on your feet.
2. Dont put yourself past what you should. Naturally your chest, triceps and biceps are stronger then ofther muscles, you probly havnt build the liagments in your elbow. If you are a newbie start with just the bar if thats all you can lift. Dont overdo it. Choose a weight that is appropriate for lifting without your form breaking down. Gradually increase the amount of weight you lift.
3. If you’re still experiencing pain in joints then you definitely need to take a break and let that heal.give your elbow complete rest. Don’t put any undue stress on it.
And,
**** ALWAYS make sure to stretch before and after.
**** ALWAYS stay hydrated. Dehydration can adversely impact muscle performance and endurance.
Hope it helps!
Have a good day.
