I think your Doctor has a vision, I wish there were more like him,
Any pill has to go through your liver and every pill has side effects, so preventative medicine its excellent, the body is a magnificent machine and with a bit of effort and time it can actually heal itself. Not of everything of course, there’s a time for antibiotics and pills, but with the things you described he is absolutely right. I wish my doctor was so open minded.

That isn’t preventative medicine.
Preventative medicine would be BEFORE you end up with an injury.
I believe in preventative measures. Especially in people with recurrent musculoskeletal complaints such as sprains which can so easily be avoided if you end up having stronger ligaments.

The best preventive medicine he could give you is information on how to prevent the injuries. Preventative medicine is much cheaper than secondary treatment, if you don’t pull a muscle you don’t have to see the doctor. There is a new push for preventative medicine and as an RN I believe it’s the right direction to go.

Those aren’t preventative, they’re standard treatment. With all the commercials out there selling cures and treatments for everything, I’d rather trust my doctor that a 30 second commercial anyway.

I think it is okay as long as long as the person want to take a holistic approach to their healing process. Frankly I wouldn’t want to be drugged out of my mind. The most I would do is take an asprin.
