You can extend and compress the tendons, holding each extreme position until the pain gets lesser important. When you do this, extension and compression, you feel some pain, but it gets lesser and lesser as you hold up the position. Do it a bit before and when it starts to burn there.

Rub it with some muscular relief is a good idea. If the rules allows it, which I think they does, grab some Tylenol pain relief about 20-30 minutes before the game. Of course, you must follow the indication on the medication box and the tournament rules.

Heat could help, but I doubt ice will do any good as you want to move it. The idea with ice is to have the painful part being still; heat helps with stretching and would therefore be more suitable than ice.

But, I must warn you of the dangers of using a damaged member to make extreme motions. Playing could in this state could bring more serious issues and get your injury worst. Not trying to convince you, but it's my duty as I advice you method to make it playable to make sure you are aware of how bad it could turn.

Also, be aware this didn't happened because you overplayed; it happened because you repeatedly make a wrong move or made a wrong move which damages have been increased by normal stress which was no longer possible to endure. Just to mention to be careful about how you swing and be sure it's not a repeated error instead of a preferable single wrong action.

Rest as much as possible...Okay first off rotate between ice and heat packs on your elbow. It will soothe your tendons. Before playing you have to warm up...don't go in smacking the ball, 5 minute warm up should be sufficient. Also during your games don't mishit, don;t hit the ball late or anything out of the normal. Careful on your serves too....you don't want to overdue them. If you have the same racquet you usually have with strings that are easy on the arm...use it....that means no Luxilon, gut or polys<trust me strings make a difference. Go to sports authority and buy an elbow brace. Lastly...GL in ur tournament!!!! Hope this helped.

P.S if you want to prevent this from happening again work out your forearm muscles. ( don't do this today though) Also....while you are practicing NEVER play with dead balls..smack them away

Hey, Mexi.. You're on the right track. Control the swelling and relax the sore muscle. Could also take something like Aleve or Motrin an hour or so before your match. In my experience, and I am not a physician, that will help as much an anything. During the tourney, do the same therapy (minus the pills) between matches and limit the use of the sore arm. With time and limited use, the soreness will go away by itself. Tennis elbow frequently occurs because of a technically incorrect grip or swing, particularly on the backhand side. You might check with your coach or local teaching pro to see if you can correct the cause. Good luck in the tourney and keep your eye on the ball.
