do i have an elbow strain or tennis elbow?
im a basketball player, i play basketball everyday, workout for about 20 mins, mostly basketball. anyways, one day,i was shooting hoops, then suddenly i felt a sharp pain on my elbow, after that i had no strength on my arm, my arm was very weak. i couldnt shoot very well after that. but well i thought " its probaly just a sPrain. but next day, my arm was still weak. so i decided to ask my doctor about my elbow. and he said it was just a sTrain, "dont worry about it". so what im asking is how long will it take to heal, get my strength back on my arm???
now ill talk about tennis elbow, first of all, if u have tennis elbow, ur elbow will hurt a lot and weakness on your arm right?? But i have no pain on my elbow, just weak arm. so i dont have tennis elbow right?
i just want my arm strength back soon as possible so i can play bball again.
thanks guyz..

Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow) is basically micro tears to the tendons in your arm and near your elbow. When you aggravate this injury, inflammation occurs pinching the radial nerve. The radial nerve is the main nerve controlling your arm and hand, making you feel like you’ve lost strength.
Good news bad news. Good news, it will heal by itself, all you have to do is lay off aggravating it for 8 to 12 weeks. Bad news is that it takes this long because your tendons do not receive the same blood flow as other parts of your body. Think about how fast any injury such as a burn or laceration heals on your lips or in your mouth. There is plenty of blood circulation, with is critical to healing. Your tendons get very little, therefor, 8 to 12 weeks.
Based on your detailed description, I have to agree with your doctor.
