Why does my right elbow joint hurt after i lift weights?

When i lift weights my right elbow joint and arm starts hurting.

    Tendonitis or strained ligaments.

    Several things to look into:
    Cold packs will help with the local discomfort
    Back off the curls for a while to give things time to heal, and then start back at much lower weight.
    A constriction band (like tennis players wear for Tennis Elbow) may be needed for a while
    The big one: get a trainer to look closely at your technique. If you’re lifting wrong, the problem will only recur and get worse.

    Maybe you’re picking a weight that your joints can’t handle, or you are lifting the weights at the wrong angle. Otherwise, I’d see a physical therapist or your doctor.

    You may have injured yourself and when you lift again it re-injures since it can’t fully heal. OR you are possibly doing something wrong when you are lifting (lifting the weights too fast, at the wrong angle etc and are injuring yourself)

    So my advice would be to just take a break for about a week or two from exercises using arms. If it hurts again after that make sure you are doing your workouts properly. If you are then a trip to the doctor would be your best bet.

    I think it’s the tendon/ligament around your elbow that is being overworked. You could try working your way up from lighter weights until your tendons/ligaments are ready for more.

    um.. maybe because you’re lifting too much, or you’re doing it too often. maybe you’re doing it too fast. slow down, do more lifts with less weight, you’ll probably be fine.

    Very likely to be tendonitis. Take it easy for a couple of days, you may also want to go to your local sporting good store and there is a nylon sleeve that you can buy that will provide some resistence for those tendons while you are working out.

    It sounds like tendonitus. You probably have tennis or bowlers elbow. If you do a lot of curls, that’s a good way to get it.
