Damaged Arm?
my sister recently did something to her arm while in a tennis tournament, my sister has been to 3 different doctors
#1 said – a fractured shoulder
#2 said – an inflamed elbow
#3 said – 3 inflamed nerves one in her wrist, another in her elbow, another in her shoulder as well as carpel tunnel syndrome
the 3 doctors have tlked about it but none of them can seem to agree, it has been about 2 weeks and she has been attending physical therapy 3 times per week, it is getting so bad she can hardly move/lift her arm without it hurting, can anyone recommend good doctors in Fairfield County, Connecticut
also last night she was in my room and she fell asleep for about a half an hour because we were watching a movie, she fell asleep with her stomach on the floor, but when i woke her up for her to go back to her room, she tried to push herself up using her arms, she had abousolutely no strength in her arm and culdn’t push her self up

Sounds like a spine issue. Normally sports such as tennis or golf causes damage to the spine because of abrupt swinging motions. I came to this conclusion based on 1 of the 3 answers from the doctor. Since you use your upper body alot in tennis you can hurt the vertebrae of the upper back which could cause weakness in the arms as well as pain that shoots down the arm. If she is experiencing numbness accompanying the pain she might want to get checked out by a neck/back doctor. An inflamed elbow or Tennis elbow, would not cause weakness in the upper arm. You would use these muscles more if you were trying to prop yourself up. Also a fractured shoulder, depending on where the fracture is could cause the same symptoms as a disrupted verterbrae. If she has taken x-rays of the shoulder the doc should be able to truly determine whether or not it’s fractured. I am guessing she has already had this done since a diagnosis of that would be followed by an x-ray. Until it a true diagnosis is made, make sure she is icing down the area of pain. Heat will only exacerbate the issue. I hope all goes well.
