I had table tennis elbow, and I friend of mine had table tennis elbow.
I rested my elbow…for about a year, and he had surgery, (he was able to play within a month). If you opt to rest it…you must rest it…don’t play…and you’re going to be away from your sport for awhile…I was miserable.

Before you go through a lot of expensive medical treatment, check your racquet. Most tennis elbow is caused by the player using the wrong racquet for them. Your racquet is probably too light, and is "head heavy" (unbalanced). This is a bad combination. You need a heavier racquet that is "head light." Most people think the lighter the racquet, the less it will strain the arm. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The heavier the racquet, the less strain it puts on the arm when it strikes the ball. There is less vibration, and your arm and elbow takes less shock, and doesn’t work as hard. Rest your arm for a couple of weeks, and check with your local pro shop, and they will help you out.
