an overuse injury?
i had a elbow strain like 4 months ago. since i got the injury i didnt really take care of it, but after 2 months. it still didnt heal so i went to massage therapy. therapist told me i strained my back and my arm.
i suddenly felt a weird feeling when i shot the ball. my arm is weak, but ive never experienced any pain.. i feel alot better now from massage therapy. since i got the injury i iced my elbow alot, but i was on the comp alot but still icing my elbow.
its just a strain…. its not like i got tennis elbow… she told me its nothing serious. so you think it’ll heal fully???? like one day i wake up… and wolla! i feel better than before! im just worried about if strains heal fully or not… i didnt torn my muscle. its not tennis elbow. thank you
but i dont feel any sharp pain and my therapist said i didnt tear any muscle.

actually, it’s exactly like tennis elbow. you, probably, have a tendon strain (technical name is tendinitis). the reason it feels weaker is lack of use. if you immobilize (don’t use) a muscle it will begin to atrophy (shrink) in 3 days. A tendon strain (tear) is very slow to heal. you should use the (whatever) as much as possible, BUT you should not do whatever movement that causes sharp pain. do ALL other movements (this will help prevent atrophy)
heat will help the healing-cold will retard healing. cold should be used initially with an injury to prevent swelling, but after the first 15 minutes or so you should use heat to increase blood flow-blood is what heals by carrying nutrients to the injured area. any tendon or ligament injury is extremely slow to heal.
