When I suffered from "tennis elbow",caused by using a heavy bricklaying trowel, I tried physiotherapy, acupuncture etc,Nothing worked except time.Eventually, after approximately five months it cleared up on its own.
I believe the pain is caused by what holds the tendon in the lower arm to the bone on top of the elbow joint becoming stretched. You can find the spot by pressing your thumb onto it.It’s very painful and very frustrating waiting for it to heal.
Good luck with it.
Masha.
the best remedy is physiotherapy
You can do this exercise in one of two ways. The first is to get a one inch dowel and securely attach a rope on it. Cut the rope at about a two foot length and secure a one pound weight on it. Using both hands on the dowel but only using the injured one to do the work, slowly roll the weight up to the dowel. Here is the important part. Slowly lower the weight using only the injured arm and using the other hand as a break to hold the dowel. Negatives, as this movement is called, strengthen the muscles far more effectively and studies have shown that this movement or the other one have the best results. The other movement is to take a one or two pound dumb bell and have the forearm resting on a table. With the wrist in the up position slowly lower it down. It should take you between three to four times as long to lower it as to raise it. Do this is sets of ten attempting to reach three sets. When doing the dowel movement attempt to get to ten times.
Cortisone shot worked wonders for me. Still had residual pain for several months but not too bad.
