How come I get a sore arm after I drive standard?
I’ve just purchased a new standard car, and each time I drive, my elbow hurts for an hour or two afterwards. It’s doesn’t feel like a sore muscle pain, but is more of a burning pain right in the joint.
Please let me know what you think!
Thanks!

Well, thinking logically from your details, it sounds to me as if you are keeping your hand on the shift knob and there is no console/armrest directly under your elbow/forearm for you to rest it on. This will put undue pressure on the elbow joint holding it in midair. If this is your first standard car then my suggestion to you is to rest your arm on the console or armrest when you are not changing gears. If you do a lot of city driving and are constantly shifting you might want to think about putting something under that area of your arm to rest it on (if there is no armrest/console) so you are not holding it up in the air the whole time. Been there, experienced that. I learned to curb my "coolness" and to periodically let go of the shift knob to rest my arm. LOL
