As a result of long term weightlifiting I have developed tendonitis in my elbow joints. The pain got so bad I could no longer perform any upper body exercises. I haven’t performed any in six weeks, and with every attempt (even with lighter weght), I still feel discomfort… In my research I have seen no long term remedy except cortizone shots in the affected joints or doses of anti inflamatory pills; I don’t like either option…Anyone out there with a similar problem ? Have you tried anything that works well to get one back to normal?

P.S.
I a have also been taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin capsules for about 6 weeks, and I feel no measurable relief .

I’ve had pain in my elbow for two weeks. It hurts to even pick up a coffee cup. The bone also hurts to the touch. I was telling a friend about it and she told me it sounded like tennis elbow. I looked it up and the symptoms match up. It says it’s caused by repetitive motion. I don’t do any repetitive motion for any length of time. The day it started hurting I moved a love seat and I also was holding up my printer to slide a board under it to keep it from scratching a shelf it was sitting on. The shelf was close to the floor and I was holding the all the printer weight with it sitting on top of my hand. Maybe that was the cause. But why the pain on the bone? I don’t have insurance so I don’t want to go to the doctor just so he can tell me to rest it. I can do that free. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and what I can do about it.
It doesn’t really affect normal activity other than I can’t lift weights right now. I know it wasn’t caused by weightlifting though.

I had surgery on both arms for tennis elbow/tendinitis. My arms were not healing as fast as my doctors thought they should, so I asked my doctor for a prescription for deep tissue massage in my arms (to help the tendinitis). He gave me one and I called a licensed place that stated in the phone book that they do deep tissue massage therapy. I called them on the phone and made sure that they do this type of work and they said yes, no problem, just bring in my prescription to my first appt. So I did, and it ended up being a Chiropractors office which was clearly not set up for deep tissue massage on the arms. He has been working on my neck and back since end of August and at first at the end of each session he would pay some attention to my arms for about a minute. I questioned him about this because I was concerned about workers comp not paying the bill for a chiropractors office and he assured me that if they don’t that my Blue Choice will pay for it. He also said that he would
write me up a release stating that I would never see a bill from them (to ease my mind). I finally told him that I felt I was clearly in the wrong place, and he told me that the neck and arms are connected and that it would benefit me, so I continued to set up appts. I did however tell him though that I didn’t feel that this was the place for me as far as massage for my arms. He then asked one of the massage therapists that work in the same building with him come in and speak with me about how much it would cost me per 1/2 hour for the massage that I need for my arms! Oh yeah, and the letter of release that he gave me only states that I am not responsible for copays! I called the insurance company today and it is in review and they told me that if workers comp does not pay for it, I might have to go before a judge and jury, so I called the Chiropractor’s office and told him this and that I want a letter stating I will never see a bill and he is being testy with me. I am going to
go to my appointment today just so I can get that letter, but I don’t appreciate him making me out to me the a-hole when he clearly mislead me from the beginning just so he could get my business. What should I do if he doesn’t give me that letter and I end up having to waste my time with court and get a bill? I am really aggrivated. Not only has he wasted my time, but I did not get the deep tissue massage on my arms that I needed.

My elbows are sore from tumbling (cart-wheels, etc.) and I do not know the best way to make them feel better. I am icing them now. Will this work?
Thanks.

I seem to always be aware of my right forearm, I have discomfort in it constantly throughout the day.. It is hard to describe, it is not a pain or soreness it feels like the muscle is being clenched so I think it might be tight… I went to physio for it and they did active release on my forearm and it just made the forearm feel sore, they told me to stretch it a lot but that does not help at all, sometimes it feels worse after stretching
i play tennis 8-10hrs a week at an intense level and am on the computer a lot but even if i rest for a couple days the forearm stays the same, it feels a bit better or a bit worse fluctuating from day to day
This is not tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome, i feel this on my muscle and not near the elbow its about 2/3 up my arm (2/3 up arm starting from wrist and going to elbow)

Has anyone experienced this or know what it is? I would really appreciate any help
Xtra Info: When i sit at the computer my arm and elbow are at about an 80 degree angle, my physio said i should get it as close to 90 degrees but 80 is as close as i can get it with my sitting arrangements,
I have a private coach that I take lessons from every month who is extremely qualifed so it is not a technical problem from tennis…
My forearm is also very thick so I doubt i have this problem from a weak muscle..
No, I haven’t gone to the doctor about it, i get pain when i press on it but not on the outside of the muscle but on the inside middle part of it

I have been diagnosed with tennis elbow and am on anti flammatory tablets. How long does the pain last for? Months weeks etc. does anyone have any idea what else to do besides resting your arm and massage? Any remedies? I have tried creams, tablets but to no avail. Please tell me more about the symptoms you have had and what you did to relieve this. Muchly appreciated. Emma

I don’t remember doing anything to it like hitting it on something or twisting it, but it hurts only when I straighten it. I think it might be tennis elbow. Can someone please verify this for me and if it is tennis elbow, please tell me how to treat it?
Okay, I’m 17 and kind of lazy. I don’t play sports and it started hurting after I got out of the shower.

What’s the best way to ease tendonitis in the elbow? Or any other joint for that matter?

I exercise regularly, including martial arts. It’s been ongoing for a few months now, any suggestions would be great.

Also, if you have been afflicted with it currently or in the past, what was it like? What can you do to prevent it? How else can it develop besides from tennis?

I returned to lifting weights recently and now when I do, my elbows get so sore for the few days after lifting that i cant even make my arm straight without a good deal of pain. This never used to happen! It is much different than the sore muscle feeling and this is right at my elbow joint.

I have tendonitis in my elbow. The pain extends to my upper arm. I do circuit training 3 times per week. I saw a doctor who advised me to stop all upper body equipment until the tendonitis was gone then add one machine back each week. The problem is my tendonitis has never completely healed. It hurts whether or not I have exercised. I take Advil but it gives me very little relief.

If I do my upper body exercises when the pain isn’t especially severe am I doing further damage to my arm?

One day Bill complained to his friend, "My elbow really hurts, I guess I should see a doctor."

His friend offered, "Don’t do that. There’s a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker an cheaper than a doctor. Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs ."

Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks.

Late that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He decided to give it a try. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction.

He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren’t yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don’t stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better.

I was playing with my friend on a tennis court. A couple of time per weeks and then i’ve start to pratice my "services". So i kept smashing the ball but then it started to hurt a bit and then more and i had to stop playing.

This is like a year and an half ago. I’ve ask my gym trainor but he tought it could be what we call a "tennis elbow". Altough reading on the internet, a tennis elbow doesn’t refer to a bicept.

It doesn’t hurt often. Just when i use it too much and too hard, then i’ll start to feel the pain. Of course they told me the best thing would be to get some radiography but oh well …i didn’t feel the need to get to this… Still i’m wondering what could be the problem… i though that with time, the pain would go away and that i would have healed…

An exemple of what could realy hurt is if i do "crush heads" in the gym with heavy weight… after the first repetition ill start feeling it…

Any ideas?
