Eight weeks ago I fractured my left clavicle, I was told it was grossly displaced and also had a "floater". Surgery was performed; plate and screws.
It’s nice and stable, can’t stand the sling anymore-it causes pain in my folded elbow and also my AC joint is stiff and sore. I’m staying away from bearing any weight over 10 lbs. for now but need to get flexation back. Very tight when trying to reach behind and also across my chest. Found out from slow movments that the AC clicks also.
What to do?

Two days ago, I knocked my elbow in the opposite direction of it’s natural bend, not hard enough to cause severe pain, but it did hurt a minute or two then went away. Today I woke up with a good deal of pain in it, towards the upper back of it. I don’t think it’s tennis elbow, as I have had that in my other elbow and it doesn’t quite feel the same. The pain is constant but increases with activity, it feels really similar to carpal tunnel (which I have in my other wrist as well) but in my elbow, it hurts to type!! I could just rest it, but with an 8month old, that’s a bit hard to do with your dominant arm. Anyone know what this could be and how to treat it?

Computer Diagnosis

One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.
”Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs ." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: "You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks."

Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

"Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren’t yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don’t stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better."

I’ve just purchased a new standard car, and each time I drive, my elbow hurts for an hour or two afterwards. It’s doesn’t feel like a sore muscle pain, but is more of a burning pain right in the joint.

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Tennis elbow makes everything hard to do, what are some ways also to help treat it and prevent it. Cheers, 10 points awarded to best answer.

My elbow starting to hurt a little bit/feel kinda sore last night. Usually, I can just "crack" my elbow (straighten all the way), and it’d feel better, but that didn’t work this time. When I woke up this morning and tried straightening my arm, I get a sharp pain "under" or below the elbow joint, mostly on the inside/center of my arm, rather than the outside. It’s also feels sore and hurts to touch.

Could it be from playing violin so much? And how do I relieve some of the pain?

For 5 weeks now I have had severe joint and body pain mainly in my hands, elbows, shoulders, back of my knees sometimes my hips and bottom of feet and toes. Every morning I wake up with a very sore and swollen throat and lymph nodes hurt and are swollen. I’m extremely tired I can hardly function some days. I have had all sorts of blood tests and they all came back normal except the ebstein barr virus test was a bit high but the doctors told me to not worry about that. I saw a rheumatologist he says 50% chance i have rheumatoid arthritis. I don’t wanna believe that or find it hard to believe because of the sore throat and extreme tiredness to and the swollen lymph nodes in my neck. I’m so fed up the doctor aren’t helping, they have me on prednisone a steroid and it only works a couple hours a day then i’m in chronic pain again. I’m a single mom with two boys and I can hardly take care of them or even dress myself or take care of me. I’m so desperate to find out what is wrong with me. Can anyone help. What do you think it could be. I’m taking all sorts of vitamins nothing helps. HELP PLEASE!
I’ve had no fever. Just the symptoms listed.

Not sure if I have tendonitis or "tennis elbow". Maybe it’s the same thing. I was playing an intense computer game for days…..then did some outside work. Now my arm hurts…generating from the elbow and going up and down my arm. Feels like a nerve problem. Anyone know what it might be and how to treat it? I’ve had it for about a week now. Thanks for any help!
Thank you, Josie…

I’ll try it and I appreciate you going into such detail. : )

For awhile now every time i try to do barbell bench my left elbow hurts really bad. It happens right over my elbows below my triceps. I could do barbell bench fine before but ever since about 3 months ago i couldnt do barbell. I can do dumbell press just fine though with no pain in my elbow. is something wrong with my form? or is there something wrong with my elbow?

I see these questions all the time and I realize that there is no way an internet audience can accurately say whether or not your bones are fractured. But I am just looking for opinions on whether I should wait it out a little longer, or just suck it up and get an x-ray. I really hate having to wait for hours at the doctors though to just have them say that its a sprain and I need to ice it.

Anyway, on to the problem. We have this evil cable cord lying on the ground that I have been bugging everyone in the house to help me figure out how to get it out of the way, well yesterday (it was still laying there evilly) and I tripped over it and fell forward. I put my hands out (instinctively, and obviously since that is the natural reaction) and my left elbow made this loud popping sound and I doubled over in pain. Well today I have no swelling, and both elbows are sore but my right elbow is not even a concern since its not even comparing to my left elbow. It hurts right where the radial head attaches to the elbow joints if you touch it, and when I straighten or bend my arms it is also painful. But here’s the deal, it is very painful but its nothing compared to the pain I felt when I broke my arm so I am wondering if its just a torn ligament or a fractured radial head. Like I said, there is no swelling, but on the opposite side of my elbow there is a very small bruise there. I have no deformities. Do radial fractures generally hurt really bad? If they do, then I am not concerned.

Also, if it turns out to be a radial head fracture what do they do? Do they just splint it? If that’s the case I already have a sling I can use, so I would rather save my insurance for something more important then just wasting my entire Saturday to have them tell me to sling it and ice it.

Sorry for the super long, boring question! ^_^ Any comments would be greatly appreciated though.

I’m a senior in high school, playing my last year of competitive tennis before college. I’ve had a fairly successful high school tennis career, with two State tournaments and two Regional titles. However, this year, the challenge matches have been tough, and I’m one among four girls who are challenging for the fourth doubles position on Varsity.

My coach says that the only thing keeping me from taking the spot is that my new spin serve isn’t consistent yet. So, I’ve been practicing at least one to two hours daily, just working on my serve. However, my elbow and wrist are starting to get really painful tendinitis as a result of this vigorous practice.

I’ve been wearing a brace, and I feel like I should stop and take a break for a while, but I’m also afraid if I stop practicing for the time it would take my injuries to heal, I’ll fall behind the other contenders for the Varsity spot. I have to do something, because my game gets worse as the injury gets more painful.

Any ideas?

Well, about this time last year I was told I had stage II embroynal carcinoma. They my right ‘one’, but it still showed signs of intrusion… so I had to go through a few cycles of Chemo.

Its been a couple months and everything’s looking good, but the last few days–couple weeks?–my elbow and shoulder have been tight and sore, and today i found a marble sized, painful mass a couple inches up from my elbow.

I mean, last time I expected nothing, I got something else…

i have a lot of pain after i throw a baseball for a long time (pitching) i am going to stop pitching now so i can rest my elbow ( and because i suck at pitching) the pain is right on top of the elbow ( in the back of my arm) i have alot of pain there. even doe i will stop pitching i still have to throw the ball form another position so i need to know what this is and how to treat it and how to get rid of it for ever. i think its tennis elbow but idk because i play baseball not tennis.
when the pain first stared i went to the doctor and i took x rays of it and there was nothing wrong.

I have wanted a tattoo since I was young, but always wanted to wait for the right inspiration. Well, I’ve found my subject – but now I have to pick the location on my body. I love the way forearm and inner elbow tattoos look, especially the elbow. Is there anyone out there who’s had either of those locations tattooed who could give me some idea of how bad the pain is? For a first time tattoo (and maybe the last), I just don’t know if I should go all out and take the pain or play it safe….

The pain is in the midst of the upper region of my arm (above my elbow and close to my shoulder). I’ve been playing about only 15 hours in the past four days. I have try outs in two days. I’ll take all suggestions on how to heal it quick.

The pain isn’t associated with the bone. I’m pretty sure it is like a muscle because the pain runs parallel to my bone.

Also, any ideas on how to serve with this kind of pain? Right now, I just tap it in. The pain only arises when I actually hit the ball or swing my racket. Thanks

i had a elbow strain like 4 months ago. since i got the injury i didnt really take care of it, but after 2 months. it still didnt heal so i went to massage therapy. therapist told me i strained my back and my arm. i did not torn any muscle massage therapist said, she can sense things well. im just wondering if these kind of injuries fully for sure. i feel no pain, no sharp pain nothing. just weak. i think i strained it.

i suddenly felt a weird feeling when i shot the ball. my arm is weak, but ive never experienced any pain.. i feel alot better now from massage therapy.

its just a strain…. its not like i got tennis elbow… she told me its nothing serious. so you think it’ll heal fully???? like one day i wake up… and wolla! i feel better than before!
