Although I appreciate any ones helpfulness greatly, & I realize you are just being genuine, I have gotten many answers when I had a problem like this recently, that did not help at all. So I need clarify things.

1. I almost definitely understand more than you do about my arm and what I have done right & wrong in conditioning, stretching, warming up, & performing with my right arm.
2. I don’t want to hear about how I need to warm up better, & stretch out my arm & I definitely do not want to hear how I need to throw less. I condition my arm in such a way that my arm can take more throwing than you would expect. I throw everyday, therefore I never get a sore arm. I get minor injuries, mostly to the elbow, but I have an arm that is conditioned & prepared at almost a professional level.
3. The one thing I will willingly admit, just to get out of the way, is that I often times do not warm up my arm properly before throwing. I prepare it when it comes to working out & keeping it healthy, but I understand, & hope to fix when my arm is healthy again, my poor pre-throwing activities.
4. Yes, I am a 13 year old kid, almost 14. But do not tell me how I am too young to have such an injury, or I don’t throw hard enough, because that automatically makes me skip your answer, knowing it won’t be any good. I go to an academy, am well taught, take yoga and palates classes, have pretty good mechanics for my age, & I am big for a 13 year old.
5′ 7”, 145 big.

Anyways, thank you for reading those. I just need any answerers to understand those things.

Here’s what I need to know. I’ll give the questions, then give more detail below

What are possible injuries to the ulnar collateral ligament? What I’m wondering is, could you partially tear it? I understand you can receivemicro-tearss to it. Can it be strained, pulled or another injury? If so, how can I get an idea, other than an MRI, what my diagnosis may be? I have done much research on the injury, & I have many of the symptoms, however mine seem to be more acute versions of the symptoms. This leads me to believe it could be a partial tear, which would be good news to me, assuming partial tears can heal, at least decently. Also, what would such an injury feel like when it occurs? I know this happened one time about 2 months ago, & I was VERY worried about it at the time, but nothing really seemed to trigger it. This time, I hadn’t thrown in 4 days & my arm felt great, so I sped threw warmups & on to long toss, & one specific throw, that may have been thrown a little oddly, gave me a sensation I wouldn’t exactly describe as painful as other information I have read would indicate is common. It felt like a slight hit of the funny bone, maybe with a little pain, but more worrying a feeling than a painful one. I immediately realized it & began throwing with less velocity cautiously, not as much because I couldn’t with the pain, but I was being careful. However, the throws following the incident had significantly more pain than the incident itself, although still nothing unbearable.

Now one more thing that could be a relieving thought, would be, when you tear a ligament, or when reconstructive surgery is needed, does this mean the ligament is torn right through the whole thing? If not, then what is considered a partial tear? At what speed & completeness do partial tears recover? Quickly, fully, slowly, not quite 100%?

More information. This happened to me about 2 months ago, without a specific trigger. I threw through pain for about 1 1/2 weeks(don’t tell me… I understand the mistake here). The only grace in throwing threw the pain was, knowing I could do it. As bad as it is to throw threw pain, knowing I could at least do it, was a bit of a relief ; such an injury requiring Tommy John Surgery, I’m sure would not allow any performance. After that time, I came to my senses & realized I should take days off & let my knowledgeable coach know. After the 3 or 4 days off, the injury had subsided a little bit, & I took it easy that practice. With limited throwing for the next week or so, I was back to 100%. Now here is what I think was another large mistake. Instead of rehabbing it a little bit, I jumped right back into throwing full speed & everyday. I was fine, no problems with my arm for about 2 months, til last saturday. This weekend I also threw through pain, as it was a tournament, & I didn’t want to disappoint. On saturday & sunday combined, I probably threw just under 100 pitches(don’t let that number scare you). My elbow was very sore monday morning, & I could not fully straighten it, however later in the day I got it to be almost fully straight w/ little pain. This morning was the same, with no noticeable difference.

If you have good information, & could continue helping me with the provided back & forth communication, please email me at Noahmcdx@yahoo.com & notify me of the email in your a

My husband has cardiomyopathy. Is it normal for these symptoms to be related to this disease? Knuckles hurt on feet & hands, hurting wrists, hurting elbows, hurting knees and hurting ankles. So we know it’s a "joint thing". He also complains about his muscles of his calves and thighs hurting…or at least being sore and tender. It takes him a minute to get off the couch. Any advice would be appreciated….Thanks! Amy

Well I went to work today & as I was getting up from the couch we have at my work place, I stretched out my arm & a sharp pain occurred in my elbow. I didn’t hear a pop & I can move it, but when I open my arm to reach for something the pain comes back for about two seconds. I don’t think i broke it because the pain is bearable & I can move it. It feels kind of like a pinching but a little harder on the inside. But if anyone know how to make the pain go away or the cause of the pain; please reply. I’m not overweight, but I don’t exercise much.

I was walking down the front steps(dreaming), I slipped and hit the floor with my back. (thankfully, I didn’t hit the steps)

My right arm took most of the impact. The wrist hurts a little bit, but thats not a big thing, it will go away. BUT the back of my right elbow looks like it has a large tennis ball attached to it. and it hurts bad.

I am not able to stretch my arm more than 150Degrees (people can, upto 180 degrees) or below 40 degrees. My right palm cant touch the right shoulder. Every time I move it closer to the shoulder, it gives me a terrible streak of pain from the tip of my fingers to the neck. Can’t write or type properly, how do you get rid of the pain and swelling?

I can pick up things but not more than 3 books.

(First aid: Deep Heat & Elmetacin Spray Solutions)
middle of the night. and can’t drive right now.
CANT DRIVE with this on my hand. midnight. hospital too far away. maybe in the morning. but not now. Anything for the pain?
ouch. wrist to.
trying ice now. pain is still there.
I see the danger with YA now, dont know if medical solutions here are the right thing to do. bloody steps. ah. ouch ouch ouch.

Yesterday I broke out into hives, they started on my elbow now I have them on my feet and hips. I did use a new soap yesterday, & yesterday I was very stressed out the entire day, could this have anything to do with it? The weird thing about these hives is they are makingmy hands stiff & the ones on my feet are really sore like bruises. Any suggestions? I put some benadryll cream on them.

2 days before Easter i was dignosed with over active Thyroid.

I was put on the meds to help this. My blood work came back ok with the dosage.

2 weeks later… I broke out in hives….. had to go to the hospital and they gave me steroids & benedryl. 2 days later the hives came back worse… again hospital and liquid steroids.

4/20 my sister died. 4/18 I had a terrible sore throat, fever and joint ache… my hands, leggs wrists, elbows… every joint swelled in my body. For over 1 month now… my joints are swelled. It starts in my hands, then elbow mostly now. I was tested for lymes disease, 5th disease (my gp says it is 5th) my diabetic doctor said i was exposed to 5th as a child but the blood work did not show that i have it. I am in such pain and my fever for 1 month now ranges 99.5 – 99.8. My doctor has no idea what this is … he just tells me to treat they symptoms with alleve.

Any suggestions? I am at the end of my rope… Thank you!
well with the hives over my entire body and the swelling…(plus being a diabetic) yes, that was ER care…
the joint pain is terrible… i have not done er for that… just my dr.. but no one knows what it is.

I was on the floor putting some books on a low shelf. When I brought my arm down after shelving a book my elbow (kind of on the upper side of it) hit HARD on the corner of a large plastic box which has a sharp corner.

The pain wasn’t like hitting my funny bone, it was much worse. I swear it brought tears to my eyes and my whole arm went numb from the elbow to the tips of my fingers.

What I want to know why do my wrists and fingers hurt bad now too? My elbow is really sore. It hurts to bend it out all the way and honestly the pain just type it bad. I have a bruise now showing up where I hit it.

Any idea what’s wrong?

Oh & YES I will watch out for plastic boxes now and I won’t type anymore! lol

Whenever I workout (mainly doing curls) the week following, my elbows are killing me & night time is the pits! I think it’s tennis elbow, but I’m not sure. Will this get better with time & is there something I can take to help the problem?

I’m out of the splint, and I’ve gained some mobility back but I’d still like to get some type of support. I’m going hiking in Costa Rica next week and a little extra protection would make me feel better. Anyone have a suggestion for a brace or some sort of support? I’ve checked drug stores, Target & Sport Authority and I can’t find anything that I think would work for this particular issue. Most things are for ‘Tennis Elbow" or just an ace bandage. Suggestions?

For about 2 months I have had tennis elbow. I’m wanting to know what people have tried & tested, & what actually helped them to overcome the pain. I’m thinking of trying accupuncture…has this worked for anyone or is tennis elbow something that just comes& goes with time? I’m only 30-is it strange to get this at this age?

So yeah, I had tennis elbow (never played tennis in my life, funnily enough) it was from hyper extending + carrying extremely heavy objects in an extremely stupid way…

Anyway I pretty much ignored it, got on with life…Now (a week later) my forearm is extremely HOTand SWOLLEN (mainly the large muscle between elbow & wrist) and keeps going ‘dead’ (wrist too) and looks a little bruised (not external bruising from any kind of trauma) on inside forearm….

Not going back to physio! (just recovered from knee surgery) so looking for some advice or just hearing from anyone who has had anything similar. Thanks

Hi, a few months ago I was running and slipped, landing on my shoulder.. Hurt like hell but could move it just fine. Still hurts if I move it a particular way but nothing other than that.
The past 2 weeks my hand started hurting like crazy when I use it a bit & now shooting up to my elbow.
Are the two related? Should I go to the doctor or think it’ll heal over time?
Thankss :)

Back in October,I had a fender bender. I Have 3 sliped disk & 4 herniated disk.I’ve done phyisical therapy. For about 2 months now, I’ve been having pain in my arm mainly in my elbow. But my wrist & shoulder hurts too, & Goes up to neck too. I went to my regular doctor & asked him about it he said it sounded like tennis elbow. I took naproxen for 2 weeks, it still hurt & I went back to him & he gave me cortizone shots. It worked for about 4 days, now it hurts even worse now! Does it sound like it’s coming from my neck? Any help would be nice!!!!

I think I may have de Quervians in my right hand/forearm and was wondering if putting a brace that’s used for lateral epicondylitis/tennis elbow over my mid forearm(general area of extensor pollicis longus & brevis, abductor pollicis longus) would relieve some of the strain on the tendons going to the thumb and across the wrist by shifting the tension back on the muscle bellies.

I am a male, age 43. I have been strength training over the past year and have made great gains! The outer elbow pain seems to be getting worse after working out or doing simple tasks! Wake up with pain & numbness! I`ve tried ice, heat, pain relievers, rest, etc. Nothing is working!

Well, about this time last year I was told I had stage II embroynal carcinoma. They my right ‘one’, but it still showed signs of intrusion… so I had to go through a few cycles of Chemo.

Its been a couple months and everything’s looking good, but the last few days–couple weeks?–my elbow and shoulder have been tight and sore, and today i found a marble sized, painful mass a couple inches up from my elbow.

I mean, last time I expected nothing, I got something else…

when the pain first stared i went to the doctor and i took x rays of it and there was nothing wrong.

One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go toa computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.

"Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs ." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After abrief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed:"You have tennis elbow.Soak your arm in warm water.Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks."

Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the . The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

"Your tap water is too hard.Get a water softener.Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins.Your daughter is using cocaine.Put her in a rehabilitation clinic.Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They arent yours.Get a lawyer. And if you dont stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better."

The pain is in the midst of the upper region of my arm (above my elbow and close to my shoulder). I’ve been playing about only 15 hours in the past four days. I have try outs in two days. I’ll take all suggestions on how to heal it quick.

The pain isn’t associated with the bone. I’m pretty sure it is like a muscle because the pain runs parallel to my bone.

Also, any ideas on how to serve with this kind of pain? Right now, I just tap it in. The pain only arises when I actually hit the ball or swing my racket. Thanks
