I’m a pretty regular disc golfer for almost 2 years, about 2-3 times per week. I’ve had some on again off again pain in my forearm below my elbow. Today I hurt it big time playing. I have free range of motion in my arm without pain, the pain is weight bearing related. I cannot push down with my hand without searing, dull pain all around the thickest part of my forearm.

The closest thing to compare the pain to is if your arm was wrenched the wrong way in an arm bar hold. There is no swelling nor bruising, I can move my fingers and hand freely, no numbness, just godawful pain when I push down or rest it with only my hand supporting the arm. It seems to be more along the ulna bone rather then the radius. Does that sound like tendonitis, bone bruise, tendon/ligament pull? It didn’t sound like tennis elbow but I’m not ruling anything out.

What does this sound like and what should I do about it? I’ve already started the R.I.C.E regiment but other ideas would be nice, especially preventative/rehab related. Thanks.

I was diagnosed with tennis elbow in both arms in May. The medications did not help. My doctor is now thinking it is not tennis elbow but rather has something to do with my herniated discs and spinal stenosis in my lower back . ( I have had that diagnosis for years, though it has never caused any issue with my arms.) He has referred me to a neurologist, but I couldn’t get an appointment until mid february. My question is this. My doctor ordered blood work. When the technician went to take my blood, it was like an electric shock went thru my arm and I yanked my arm away.I have had blood work several times in the past and never had a problem. Since that day of the failed lab work, I have a severe new pain in my pulse area of my wrist, whenever I reach my arm out. It is exactly where my pulse is in my wrist. Do I need to be concerned about this and call my doctor back?

Lately I’ve been getting really sharp pains right between the wrist and forearm on the little finger side of the arm. The pain can hurt when bicep curling and preacher curls but it’s at it’s worst when I release the grip of a weight it’s just an unbearable sharp pain that would last for a couple of seconds unless I release the weight really slowly in which case the
pain is not as bad. It’s not just weight training it also hurts during everyday things that include heavy weight for example if I hold my palms out facing upwards and put and kind of
pressure of them the other side of my arm will feel as if it’s about to snap. Does anyone know what the actualy problem is as I’ve been told different things and I’m not sure what’s to belive. Thx
any1 know the actual problem and how to treat it as I’ve been told it could be tendonitos, tennis elbow,a pinched nerve, weak wrists, and just a strain

Okies,I asked a q like this before, but my problem is getting a bit more serious @ this stage. My right elbow is SERIOUSLY swollen for the past 2/3 months, and nobody seeme to know whats wrong with it!!=( I’ve gone to a really good orthapedic doc,and he said it was prob bruising or bleeding, and put me ina sling and prescribed anti-inflamatories. So that was grand and we went off, thinking my arm would be as-good-as-new. We made an appt. to see him again after 2 weeks, but my arm was not any bit better. He took x-rays,but they showed no fracture. This was really annoying, because the doc just laughed because he was hiding the fact that he was confused. He said to come bac to him in a few months if I wasn’t getting better. During these months,I was in another hospital, and another doc saw me and he took more x-rays and, again,it showed no fracture. He put it down to tennis elbow, and gave me steroid injections. He said that I’d be better in a few weeks with using the anti-inflamatory gel we have
but the swelling has NOT gone down any bit. I started going to physio, and she doesn’t have a clue whats going on either, but she feels there is something seriously wrong with it. I really don’t know what to do now,and I am in soooo much pain, and the pain is even worse when you don’t know whats wrong with you. We are making an appt with the original doc,but I have a feeling he will say rest, and anti-inflammatories and painkillers(which don’t work anymore)
but I HAVE rested, and done everything I can,but nothings helping!! I really wanna get it sorted,so do you people have any suggestions?? I really need help, its been going on for the past 2-3 months, and I wanna get rid of the pain!!
Please help me,any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
nope,i havnt had an mri scan on it,and they are really expensive(in ireland, anyway)and I’ve already had one on my knee, and I’m getting one on my head. Health insurance will cover it,but ill be waiting months for it,and im in a bit too much pain to wait,i wanna sort it out! Thanks anyway

I am a male in his early 20s who is new to weight lifting. I have never “worked out” before this stage in my life. I have been lifting weights every day for about 4-5 weeks now. I probably have only taken 6 days off total. To keep my body from wearing down, I have been alternating the days when I work out upper and lower body (like my buddies have told me).

Within the last week I have noticed that I have been experiencing a pain located around my elbows. The pain is usually at its worse right after I do bicep curls. The pain continues after I leave the gym. I go home and find it painful to fully extend my arm. This pain in my elbow joints keeps me from opening my arms to full capability. For example, when I reach my arm out to grab something, a sharp pain is felt in or around my elbow joint.

I asked a few weight lifting friends what the problem could be. They said they have never heard of this happening before and I should take a few days off. I took 2 days in a row off and the pain disappeared but returned when I began lifting again.

HERE IS MY MAIN QUESTION. Am I putting myself at risk of elbow joint injury? OR am I simply feeling the pain of a new set of muscles being worked that I have never worked before? Am I actually feeling pain in my bones or is this just sore muscle pain that I need to overcome to get stronger?

If it helps, the pain is felt directly behind the pointy bone that appears when you bend your arm (located on the upper arm, not the hand/wrist lower half of the arm).

Thanks!
