I have been having wrist pain for years now and im only 19 y/o. My doc diagnosed me with a torn ligament in my wirst 4 years ago, but i went to a hand specialist and he couldnt find anything wrong. So he ordered a mri, xray, nerve conduction test, emg, and mri with fluoroscopy. All tests normal. But now i am having pain in my forearm, my other doc said its tennis elbow. I am going to physical therapy now. But that seems to be making it worse. My p.t said i have an extremely tight tendon in my wrist and tight muscles in my forearm near my elbow. She massaged that for a while and gave me some exercises to do. This was last monday. Since then i have been waking up i excruciating pain in my elbow, where i cannot move it or make a fist. The top of my hand, thumb and wrist is very sore and weak. It almost feels stiff. Sometimes i have burning and throbbing sensation. The pain is radiating into my fingers and on the palm of my hand at the base of the thumb. Im not sure what to do. I cannot sleep cuz the pain is incredible. I am really fed up with this. What can I do?? Should I see another hand surgeon?? I have had 2 cortizone shots and those did nothing. I have also had 3 casts on my wrist. I am very upset. And all this typing does not help. Could someone please help me?? Writing, typing, and gripping aggravate it, but lately ive been have pain at rest…. Please help… Thank you so much
i have thought about amputation.. lol

I’ve been told that I have tennis elbow, Wierd I don;t play tennis HUH. I’ve done physical threrapy on it and I’ve had 2 cortizone shots. the last one was on Tuesday. The pain has not stopped yet. My doctor said if it didn’t quit bothering me, he’ll refer me to a orthopedic doctor. What can they do for this? I’m sick of pain pills and antiflamatory pills, doesn’t help much either. Any suggestions PLEASE!!!!

Back in October,I had a fender bender. I Have 3 sliped disk & 4 herniated disk.I’ve done phyisical therapy. For about 2 months now, I’ve been having pain in my arm mainly in my elbow. But my wrist & shoulder hurts too, & Goes up to neck too. I went to my regular doctor & asked him about it he said it sounded like tennis elbow. I took naproxen for 2 weeks, it still hurt & I went back to him & he gave me cortizone shots. It worked for about 4 days, now it hurts even worse now! Does it sound like it’s coming from my neck? Any help would be nice!!!!

As a result of long term weightlifiting I have developed tendonitis in my elbow joints. The pain got so bad I could no longer perform any upper body exercises. I haven’t performed any in six weeks, and with every attempt (even with lighter weght), I still feel discomfort… In my research I have seen no long term remedy except cortizone shots in the affected joints or doses of anti inflamatory pills; I don’t like either option…Anyone out there with a similar problem ? Have you tried anything that works well to get one back to normal?

P.S.
I a have also been taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin capsules for about 6 weeks, and I feel no measurable relief .

here’s my situation.

i have tennis elbow real bad. i’ve had it for about 3 yrs now but in the past few months, the pain has gotten unbearable.

i’ve already been in and out of physical therapy twice and have had 3 cortizone shots and neither worked. so i went to the doctor and told him that i think it’s time for surgery and he agreed.

but the problem is it’s a workmen’s comp issue and it has to go through approval which takes about 2 weeks to get. so i have to work in the meantime.

my job is very physical and requires alot of use of that arm. so having to work with this bad elbow is like torture but my job insists that i work 7 days a week.

they know my predicament and they know i’m in severe pain but they don’t care. when i try to explain it to them that i’m in pain, they kinda brush my off with the "suck it up and stop whining" attitude.

now here’s the worst part. meanwhile, i’m watching able bodied people getting days and weekends off and getting sent home early due to lack of work. but for me, instead of sending me home on slow days, they look for trivial things for me to do. doing "lighter" jobs is actually worse because it requires more movement and use of this arm.

am i in the wrong for being angry about this?
