My arms were not healing as fast as my doctors thought they should, so I asked my doctor for a prescription for deep tissue massage in my arms (to help the tendinitis). He gave me one and I called a licensed place that stated in the phone book that they do deep tissue massage therapy. I called them on the phone and made sure that they do this type of work and they said yes, no problem, just bring in my prescription to my first appt. So I did, and it ended up being a Chiropractors office which was clearly not set up for deep tissue massage on the arms. He has been working on my neck and back since end of August and at first at the end of each session he would pay some attention to my arms for about a minute. I questioned him about this because I was concerned about workers comp not paying the bill for a chiropractors office and he assured me that if they don’t that my Blue Choice will pay for it. He also said that he would
write me up a release stating that I would never see a bill from them (to ease my mind). I finally told him that I felt I was clearly in the wrong place, and he told me that the neck and arms are connected and that it would benefit me, so I continued to set up appts. I did however tell him though that I didn’t feel that this was the place for me as far as massage for my arms. He then asked one of the massage therapists that work in the same building with him come in and speak with me about how much it would cost me per 1/2 hour for the massage that I need for my arms! Oh yeah, and the letter of release that he gave me only states that I am not responsible for copays! I called the insurance company today and it is in review and they told me that if workers comp does not pay for it, I might have to go before a judge and jury, so I called the Chiropractor’s office and told him this and that I want a letter stating I will never see a bill and he is being testy with me. I am going to
go to my appointment today just so I can get that letter, but I don’t appreciate him making me out to me the a-hole when he clearly mislead me from the beginning just so he could get my business. What should I do if he doesn’t give me that letter and I end up having to waste my time with court and get a bill? I am really aggrivated. Not only has he wasted my time, but I did not get the deep tissue massage on my arms that I needed.

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. Hello, I’m 16 years old and a basketball player. Anyways, here is the story, it was like a year ago, I would play basketball every. One day, I shot the ball, and here comes the "oh shit" moment.. and it happened.. it wasnt painful but.. I dont know.. but I kept shooting, so I guess it wasnt painful much. Anyways, I didnt really pay attention to my injured elbow, but everyday, I could feel that my arm was getting weaker, but I ignored it. I stopped playing basketball but instead i played video games. But I iced my elbow while playing it. Wow I cant believe its been a year since I got the injury.. I’m really confused about my injury.. my family doctor says its elbow strain, but 1 of my massage threapist say its tennis elbow. and another one of my massage threapist say its elbow strain..and people on yahoo say I torned my muscle or tendon! Which I dont think so. My doctors and MT say I didnt torn my muscle..Ok lets say its a strain. but why is it taking so long time to heal?

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. tendonitis of both arms and tennis elbow of both arms for 3 years. I have been going to physical therapy on and off for 3 years. The first year it started out in my wrist, so I went for physical therapy and it went away. When it came back the next year it went up my forearms, so I went to physical therapy and it went away. The third year it went to my elbows and I have been out of work since April of 2006. I tried therapy for 6 months as to try and rule out surgery. It did not work this time so I had both arms operated on. I had the tennis elbow surgery done arthroscopically. I have been going to therapy twice a week since April of 2006. My right arm was operated on November 06 and my left arm March 07. I am still going to physical therapy. My right arm was doing well for a while and is acting up again, and my left arm, although has gotten somewhat better, refuses to heal. My doctor told me that he is sending me back to work without restrictions at my next appt. I know that I will further injure myself if I do.
This is a workers comp case from an injury at work and my lawyers can’t do anything against what my doctors say. So my question for you is, why am I not healing as fast as the doctors believe I should be? And is there something else that I could have where maybe I was misdiagnosed and that could possibly be the reason that I am not responding to the treatment that I am getting? The pain has moved to the inside of my elbow joints now and is traveling back down my forearms in the pain of tendoinitis again. I am very distraught about this. I feel I have done everthing I could possibly do to cure this problem. They have never given me and MRI even when I asked for one. I need to find a doctor that will listen to me and not worry about stepping on another doctors "toes" and really hear my concerns. I don’t want to end up totally disabled, I want to be healed. What should I do? I really don’t know what to do anymore. I just want my arms back so I can go back to my normal life.
My questions are these: Is there something I can have besides what they are saying? Is there any other treatment that can advance my healing? Will an MRI show things that might have been missed? How do I get a doctor to listen to me? Why am I not healing as fast as they "think I should?" I really need advice from a professional in this area. I am not messing around, I am not trying to stay out of work, I am being honest with my concerns and I feel like nobody cares. Please help!!!
In response to Mystify’s thorough and helpful answer, My pain started in my right arm and my left arm followed. It is a repetitive injury I incurred at work from typing all day which I believe to have been a poorly set up work station.

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. Everytime I go to the doctors with an injury of a sprain or strain he gives me prevenative medicine such as exercises and Ice or hot packs and things for me to wear such as a sleave for tennis elbow. Do you think that it is right for this doctor to give out prevenative medicine to all his patients and to me every time he sees a patient. Any Advice from health experts or people with this experience?
