Well, I play tennis and I feel so stiff when serving and playing in general. I feel as if I can’t get the maximum movement of my body. I want to increase my flexibility and endurance, but how do I do that?

I wanted to increase shoulder, elbow and wrist flexibility. I was told swimming would do this, and was wondering if their are any other exercises I can do in my home.

I don’t want to hear "go to the doctor." I know I need to, but I wanted to get some opinions on this. Here is some more detail, it’s kind of freaking me out.

Saturday, at a child’s birthday party I was picking up kids by their hands and swinging them in circles like a helicopter ride. I felt fine. Shortly afterwards, I started playing Wii with the kids. About 5 minutes into it, I noticed my lower bicep muscle and the joint opposite the elbow was sore and I was having trouble moving it.

Since then my right thumb and pointer finger have gone numb. I noticed today that I cannot flex my bicep muscle. It’s almost like it is gone. When I feel the left bicep, I can tell it is muscle without flexing. When I feel my right bicep, it feels like jello and is very sore.

What could this be?
BTW…I can barely touch my nose or face with the injured arm. It has lost flexibility and strength. I can’t pick up my infant twins without grimmacing in pain.

I would like to make my shoulders more well developed and specifically more flexible for tennis. I am wanting this to contribute to increasing the height of my elbow on my racquet drop in my serve. What are some exercises and stretches that will accomplish this? Also, Pete Sampras’ shoulder was supposedly more well developed than most pitchers’, and he could touch his elbows together behind his back. Sampras was obviously an amazing natural athlete, but is this sort of flexibility impossible to reach for most people?
