THIS HURTS! What hurts…: Elbow and forarm. How you hurt it…: Not sure, maybe carrying armloads of heavy clothing for long distances, setting up tradeshow,lifting heavy objects. When you hurt it…: 4 monthsago. Your pain level (1 is low, 10 is high pain): 9. Your age and overall health…: 52 good health. Any other information you feel is relevant…: Loss of strength in arm and hand. Lifting objects with injured arm impossible. Painful when front of elbow is bumped. Sometimes burning sensation for no reason when arm is at rest. Starts in outside front of elbow area and radiates down to the hand. Cannot bear any wieght when pressing down on this arm, very painful. YOUR INJURY COULD BE… Tennis Elbow REHAB YOUR INJURY BY… Stretching: Straighten your elbow and pull your hand straight down. Hold the stretch for 15 seconds and release – do this 3 times. Go to the point of pain and not beyond – more is not necessarily better. Make sure you stretch both directions. Massage: Massage straight down and across the tendons that are sore in your elbow area. Use circular motions, apply deep pressure along the tendons and as it becomes less sore you may go across the tendons. You can do this yourself or have someone else do it for you. Massage all the way down to where you feel your pain. Use lotion to reduce ‘sticking’ on your skin. The pain should be less. If it is not, then you may be applying too much pressure. Ok my 9 month old American pitbull terrier puppy has been up to date regarding her health (vaccines, dewormers) daily brushing, monthly bathing, daily exercise on grass (fetch) and daily walks for an average 30-45 min. I noticed these small red skin inflammation of some sort near here front elbow joints they aren’t fully visible they have hair over them but you can still see up close and from a short distance some redness from her skin at that place. They aren’t bumpy feeling they’re dry and a bit crusty looking and she isn’t in any pain when I feel them or with any type of movement. Im wondering if they’re sores of some sort or something serious regarding skin or joint problems. I have a few pictures so please any help would be appreciated. Most likely i’ll have her seen by a vet soon if they resume. Thank you

ok so for the last couple of months i have felt pain in my elbow when playing baseball…..the pain went away a month ago but came back again today…

i have also been leifting weights but i dont think that that is the reason my elbow hurts….both my forearms hurt but i dont know if its from lifting or tennis elbow/

has anyone had this before?
if yes, what can i do to better the health of my elbow?

Everyone who watches football has at one time or another seen a time out called in the middle of the game while a coach or trainer examines a player who is lying prone on the field after being tackled too hard. Football is one of the roughest sports around, and football injuries are common and almost expected. For major league players, the tremendous salaries and notoriety outweigh the risk of injury while they’re young and enjoying the game. But in most cases, sports injuries are due to overusing or abusing the body, and the aftereffects can last a lifetime.

One of the most common sports injury is chondromalacia patellae (CMP), which is also known as patello-femoral pain syndrome or runner’s knee. This type of injury is common among young adults, particularly soccer players, tennis players, horseback riders, cyclists, football players, and runners. The condition results from acute injury to the patella (kneecap) or from chronic friction between the patella and the spot it passes through in the femur when the knee is moved rapidly back and forth.

Although it does often occur with tennis players, it is a repetitive stress injury where the outer part of the elbow becomes painful and tender. The condition, which was first described in medical research studies in 1883, often shows up in middle age, typically between the ages of 35 and 60. With treatment and symptomatic pain relief, tennis elbow usually resolves in about a year and never returns.

Sports injuries can be a result of a sudden trauma, such as a hard contact with something, or an overuse injury, such as repetitive motions that stress joints. Sports injuries are common in professional sports and most teams have a staff of athletic trainers and team physicians. Often a controversy arises among team managers and owners when coaches make decisions that can threaten a player’s health in the long term.

As a result, compression sportswear is becoming very popular with both professional and amateur athletes. These types of padded and specially designed protective garments are thought to both reduce the risk of muscle injury and speed up muscle recovery. It remains to be seen whether or not they are effective; we’ll have to wait another couple of decades to see if the compression-clothed athletes of today are still as nimble as they are today.
