First off, i started lifting weights when i was 15 1/2 i got started lifting august of 2009, lifted for about 6-7 months and then i first started getting pains in my elbow. I took a week off, returned the next week and was fine. Couple months later it returned slightly, the kind of pain that just kind of aches to where your uncomfortable, and it would only happen when i was sitting or laying around. I lifted a little through it but lowered the rate of my exercises, and it eventually came back then too. Got to be summer 2010, and i tried p90x, i made it through phase one but i couldnt make it to the recovery week of phase one (3 weeks into the program) and my elbows were in agony.
I didnt lift for a month and a half and i went to the doc. He said it was tennis elbow, and told me to wait a little while before i start lifting again. After the pain subsided (1 month and a 1/2), i started back with low intensity to work my way up. Everything was going good. Started doing weight training at school august 2010 and after we maxed out on the second week, my forearms and elbows were hurting.
I went to the doc again and he said he thought my tendons and ligaments around my elbows were just inflamed from maxing out on bench press, and incline bench press. took 2 weeks off, with a very powerful anti inflamatory and i was fine. Got to be a month and a half later, it was bothering me slightly so i took a few days off and i was ok. Now we get to december of 2010, we were getting out for christmas break and we would have a 2 week vacation, so i tried to do a little more than usuall so i’d get a little more muscle growth over the break.
That was the 20th, well my elbows and forearms started bothering me that evening, i waited until the 23rd and they were still bothering me a little, but i done a little workout at home with my at home equipment. And they’ve really been bothering me. I havent lifted at all, just worked my job. My job consists of scrubbing, painting, sanding, and fixing up a house. I’ve been working that job since the end of september of this year. It seems like my joints are aching. My shoulders, my biceps (slightly), my tricep where it connects to my elbow some, the top of my forearm (where tennis elbow would be), and my elbow joint was hurting.
It just snowed here on christmas eve, we got 6 inches so i was wondering if maybe the cold weather had anything to do with it or if it was something more serious.
Can someone please help me out. I don’t understand why I’m aching so much now but i wasn’t at this time last year if it has to do with weight training.
Pelican, I’m aching all over my arms right now. Basically i kinda have a little pain in my shoulders, sometimes throughout the day my bicep will be sore, occasionally my triceps, but i can really feel it on the outside of my forearm where my tennis elbow was, and on the back at the elbow joint. My shoulders is either between the trap and shoulder on the back of the shoulder.
Basically its a “weak feeling” if you will and almost feels like i’ve had a hard workout and my elbows are the same and the top of the elbow feels like a bruise but there’s no bruising there.
Has anyone male or female been in a relationship where they had to maintain a certain sexual position that wasn’t comfortable in order for your partner to reach climax? I have this problem with my wife and don’t know what to do.
I have been with her for over 2 years now and sex with her is like a chore or like exercise most of the time (or some unpleasant combination of both). I basically have to maintain a push-up like position on top of her in order for her to climax. I have to do this for 45 minutes to 2 hours. I’m not talking about missionary position; it’s literally like doing push-ups. I haven’t had many sexual partner (I’m in my mid-twenties and have only been with 6 people), but I have always been told that I was a good lover and my penis is definitely larger than average. However it seems like there is nothing I can do that will have her reach climax besides this uncomfortable position. I try other things but she will basically guide me back into that push-up position.
I am a good actor I guess and always pretend like I enjoy it, but last night she caught me not enjoying it and she was upset. She was menstruating (and I don’t like having sex then), I’m getting over tendinitis in the elbow, and I had to stop halfway to take care of our crying infant. When I came back from taking care of our baby, I could not get back in to the act of enjoying it and she busted me faking (I know this is usually the woman’s job). Has anyone been in a similar situation, looking for advice and suggestions from both sexes? I feel like a creep talking about this kind of stuff (guess I am kind of a prude), but any feedback will be appreciated.
We are going through a big audit at work and ever since then I wake up with the joints in my fingers, knees, ankles, toes, elbows, and neck being very stiff and painful, like arthritis. I am 38-years-old and have had osteoarthritis in my fingers since my early 20s (genetic). Could this be arthritis brought up by on-the-job stress? (The only over-the-counter painkiller that works is ibuprofen, and ibuprofen makes me go to sleep, even if I take only 200 mg)
I had tennis elbow in one arm, so used the other arm exclusively for a while. Now the second arm is really sore all up and down. Also have sore legs from knees to ankles. I work in a job where I stand a lot and lift a lot. Seems my tendons are giving out on me. I read about a collagen supplement, Genacol. I wonder if it works, or if not, what will help.
This happened a week or so ago. One day, my left elbow got sore and stiff. It got progressively worse quickly to where I couldn’t straighten my arm. It was like that a couple days.
On about the third day, I noticed swelling and bruising around my elbow. That lasted a day or two, and then went away. It’s completely back to normal now.
I’ve searched the ‘net and can’t find anything that causes all that–especially the bruising part. I didn’t hit my elbow on anything, fall or anything like that.
My job is pretty repetitive with arm motions, but I use my right arm more often than my left. I do have stiff, achey joints in other parts of my body at times. Could it be arthritis? That wouldn’t bruise, would it?
I welcome any and all guesses.
Thanks very much.
Gameplay of the tennis game “Tennis Elbow 2009″ from www.managames.com . This video is there to show all the new stuff since the initial release of TE2009. Mainly new strikes, new leg animations, gestures, etc… I’m playing against a Defender with 100% in topspin, which is the hardest kind of player to beat, because it requires a lot of patience & a lot of focus to not miss the rare occasions to win the point. I do a so so job at that, mainly because I lack of practice… ![]()
I know this is something I should be going to the doctors about, which is why I am going to the walk in tomorrow. But anyways, Saturday I woke up and my hands and feet were swollen, I had to pry my rings off and my sandals wouldn’t fit my feet were so swollen. Through Saturday my feet were swollen and began to hurt. By the end of the day all my joints were sore my wrists, fingers, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and toes. Everything feels like they have been over worked. My feet hurt like I have been standing on them all day and walking all day. I can’t make a fist without a tight feeling. All my muscles feels sore and over worked. Keep in mind I’m 20 and have a job where I am moving a lot (but not to a point where I have ever hurt in 3 years). My family and friends say its either rheumatoid arthritis or from not drinking enough water and my body retaining water – thus the swelling. I dunno, it just gets in the way because everything hurts….doing anything is uncomfortable. Last week I did get a TB shot and don’t know if that’s some sort of side effect?
after ten years with aspl tree i was fired for lack of production. i was told after many weeks of harrasment that i was costing them to much money i was [wrote up for doing good job just not enouph of it] i pruduced more than any one when i said i needed to file claim, they turned up the heat on me and when i didn’t quit my general foreman said costing them to much money after insulting my inteligents said follow back to parking spot where he said someone else wold be operating my truck the next day and see how that works when i called supervisor next day said that i was fired.i had been to doctors three times for pain in elbow and now tharapy and they also cancelled insurance week before fired. some comments harrasment [have i ever done this before] been doing all my life. i am costing them to much money] after filing claim i am guessing lost safety bonus? never filed claim they fired before could or make that call. ten years with company fired? for?
here’s my situation.
i have tennis elbow real bad. i’ve had it for about 3 yrs now but in the past few months, the pain has gotten unbearable.
i’ve already been in and out of physical therapy twice and have had 3 cortizone shots and neither worked. so i went to the doctor and told him that i think it’s time for surgery and he agreed.
but the problem is it’s a workmen’s comp issue and it has to go through approval which takes about 2 weeks to get. so i have to work in the meantime.
my job is very physical and requires alot of use of that arm. so having to work with this bad elbow is like torture but my job insists that i work 7 days a week.
they know my predicament and they know i’m in severe pain but they don’t care. when i try to explain it to them that i’m in pain, they kinda brush my off with the "suck it up and stop whining" attitude.
now here’s the worst part. meanwhile, i’m watching able bodied people getting days and weekends off and getting sent home early due to lack of work. but for me, instead of sending me home on slow days, they look for trivial things for me to do. doing "lighter" jobs is actually worse because it requires more movement and use of this arm.
am i in the wrong for being angry about this?

I have had bad lower back pain for about a year now and the doc has done xrays and urine tests and says nothing out of line? I ALSO have Tennis elbow, which really hurts! Have been on Vicodin 2/day, sometimes I need 3 or 4 and then i have to suffer other days because I am short on my script. I usually get them refilled every month with just a phone call. Now after a few months not seeing him, he wants a physical before he fills anymore. When I see him, should i tell him I need more than 2/day? Last time I seen him, he refered me to pysical therapy, but I cant afford that and dont have the time during the week to go. I have a freind whom is a massage therapist and gives me massages once a month to help, but that is temporary.
I have been exercising/strength training both my back and elbow, but my job consist of manual labor and I need to work. The vics are what keep me working without pain.
Also what if he insist on therapy?
What do you think he will do for me?
Up my script, or cut me off, or refer me elsewhere. NOTE this is my lifelong reg. DO.
How long does a general doc keep prescribing narcotics. Some that replied state that they took for year and a half for back pain..How long till its normal to up the dosage. Ive been on 7mg for about 7mos or so.
I screwed up my elbow carrying something like 2 years ago.
I should be doing nothing but resting it and the at home therapy exercises. It is impossible, even house choirs aggravate it, so I kinda gave up. then I built a room addition on the house like an idiot. I didn’t get the help I was counting on. Now am paying the price. I know you shouldn’t use your wrist and forearm too much, that is bad. I finished the work, and now I am typing a lot too much. I know I shouldn’t but like to. I bought a wrist pad thing for the keyboard. that made my typing even slower. lol
because of the height or something. I feel like putting a sling on my arm and screwing all choirs!! I can’t even get a carpenter job because it will never get better. all the specialist say I do not need surgery, I had an MRI for Elbow specialist to see. and then he finally says, okay maybe a little exercise will help. and I feel this like bump/muscle when my arm is tight against my chest. other arm is normal, no bump.
