Are you in pain and need cure for tennis elbow? This article provides you with all the information you need to learn about this specific injury called tennis elbow. I know it hurts but trust me when I say that there are methods that will totally eliminate your pain and recover your arm’s full functionality.

Tennis elbow is a common injury that affects the normal functioning of the elbow. In this condition, the tendon at the elbow joint, that connects the forearm muscles to the arm bone, is damaged. The joint pain prevents the person from performing daily activities. Tennis elbow commonly occurs among manual laborers and sportspersons, and tennis players are especially at a higher risk of developing tennis elbow.

Jobs such as painting and plumbing can also cause tennis elbow. Great players like Sachin Tendulkar and Tim Henman have also suffered from tennis elbow but with the proper treatment, they have recovered completely. In about 75 percent of the cases, tennis elbow affected the dominant arm.

Tennis Elbow Cure

There are a number of treatment options available, which are considered a cure for tennis elbow. Treatments work best if the injured tendon is allowed proper rest by avoiding activities that involve the elbow. Anti-inflammatory medications are commonly prescribed for people suffering from tennis elbow. These medicines are available in oral form and can be easily taken to reduce inflammation and control pain. Cortisone injections are used when oral medicines fail. These injections can provide relief and decrease the pain.

Other techniques that have been useful for curing a tennis elbow are ultrasound therapy, acupuncture and deep tissue massage. Activity modifications, that do not put excessive pressure on the affected arm, are also recommended to accelerate the healing process.

Surgery is the last option when elbow pain does not subside even after taking rest for 6 to 12 months. This form of treatment is used when the tendon is seriously damaged. In such cases, even months of rest along with medications, does not help the cause. In the surgical procedure, the damaged tissue is removed from the tendon. However, surgery is rarely used in the treatment of tennis elbow. Less than 5% of the cases are recommended for surgery. Many a times, patients are completely cured by using non-surgical treatments.

Tennis Elbow Home Cures

People affected by a mild form of tennis elbow can apply an ice pack for around 10 to 20 minutes to reduce the pain and swelling. A cloth must be placed between the the ice and the skin, as direct contact can cause cold injuries. Ice sessions must be repeated after every couple of hours for optimum results. Medicines such as ibuprofen can also help relieve the symptoms. Wearing an arm brace is also beneficial for the patient, as it limits the movement of the tendon, redirects the muscle pull, thus providing relief to the injured tendon. Arm braces, also known as elbow braces, can be purchased from sports shops and pharmacies.

By doing some simple exercises, it is possible to control the symptoms of tennis elbow. Physiotherapy can provide a lot of relief and doctors may advice certain strengthening exercises to relieve the pain. In some cases, where surgery failed, exercises have helped cure tennis elbow.

Depending upon the severity of the injury, a specific mode of treatment is advised as a cure for tennis elbow. It is also necessary to prevent further injury to the elbow and perform activities as recommended by the doctor until the condition improves.

Two weeks ago, I awoke with severe pain in my heels. They were bright red, and I couldn’t walk on them or even touch them – they were sore like a severe bruise. Ice and ibprophen helped marginally, and with some rest the pain went away completely. I also had joint pain in my knees, ankles, wrists, and elbows which has become more severe and persistent since the heel pain has gone away. It moves around, but it is always in most of those joints. It has been severe enough to interrupt my daily activity. I am taking between 12 and 16 ibprophen per day, and now my knees and ankles are swelled (my ankles are bigger than the balls of my feet). My elbows and ankles are sore to the touch like a bruise, as well as stiff and achy. My father is a microbiologist who thinks that I have a virus that has settled in my joints. I just started a new job, so I won’t have health benefits for 120 days. I am concerned, because I am 25 and have been healthy my whole life. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be or how to deal with it?

I’ve been working out, pretty steady for a month or so. I find that my joints are getting sore from my workouts (feels like tendinitis). I’m feeling it in my left elbow on a consistent basis. I’ve been checking my workout form, and everything seems to be by the book (no improper strain on tendons or joints). I take no supplements whatsoever, just good ol’ fashioned high protein/carb foods after my workouts. I hear that there are natural supplements out there that people take to prevent joint pain, but I dunno…I’m not a pill guy. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Hi I’m a 16 year old female. I have been having a lot of pain. Hopefully someone can help me figure it out. Thank you.
Here are the details:
-active in dance for the past 9 years
-experienced back pain for the following week after my season was over, but this is typical after season
-season lasts about 6 months
-It has now been a month since the season is over and I am still experiencing the following pain
-continued back pain
-shoulder pain in both shoulders which started occuring 2 weeks before season was over
-periodic, but minimal pain in ankle (twisted several years ago and it hasn’t fully recovered)
-periodic, but minimal discomfort in knee (it tracks to the side, so it may not be uncommon for pain)
-neck has started to be uncomfortable (stiff, sore, etc.)
-periodic elbow pain in both elbows
-periodic wrist pain
-none of this is horrible pain, but it is not comfortable and most of it persists throughout the entire day

I am not sure if it is just due to overuse with intense season or if it could be due to something such as arthritis. I am just concerned because the back pain usually goes away within the first two weeks after the season ends. Also all this other joint pain. Thank you for any help. It is truly appreciated.
BTW I don’t think it’s rheumatoid arthritis because I don’t have swelling.

I have extremely achy joints all over my body. Knees, elbows, ankles, wrists, you name it. I also tend to have sore and tense muscles along my shoulders, neck, and back. Is there anything simple and non-medical I can do for either of these problems? Herbs I can add to bathwater or something? Thanks for any help!

2 days before Easter i was dignosed with over active Thyroid.

I was put on the meds to help this. My blood work came back ok with the dosage.

2 weeks later… I broke out in hives….. had to go to the hospital and they gave me steroids & benedryl. 2 days later the hives came back worse… again hospital and liquid steroids.

4/20 my sister died. 4/18 I had a terrible sore throat, fever and joint ache… my hands, leggs wrists, elbows… every joint swelled in my body. For over 1 month now… my joints are swelled. It starts in my hands, then elbow mostly now. I was tested for lymes disease, 5th disease (my gp says it is 5th) my diabetic doctor said i was exposed to 5th as a child but the blood work did not show that i have it. I am in such pain and my fever for 1 month now ranges 99.5 – 99.8. My doctor has no idea what this is … he just tells me to treat they symptoms with alleve.

Any suggestions? I am at the end of my rope… Thank you!
well with the hives over my entire body and the swelling…(plus being a diabetic) yes, that was ER care…
the joint pain is terrible… i have not done er for that… just my dr.. but no one knows what it is.

About 4 weeks ago i started to notice pain on the side of my calf muscle on both legs. Its almost like a bruise that you cant see.
And the the pain worsens with exercise instead of eases as the muscles warm up. My brother said it might be a shin splint but i have no clue.

Also, my ankle and knee joints have started to ache constantly.
I’ve had tendinitis on my elbow from throwing the football A LOT. So i was thinking that maybe i have a high risk for this and now that i started school sports (lots of running on an uneven football field) the other joints get tendinitis too.

Or is it possible that i have rheumatoid condition?

Also, with the ankle ache, when i start the warm up run, my ankle clicks for a while and its very uncomfortable.

Any possible diagnosis? Thanks!

This summer my mom started feeling pain in her right elbow. Later her whole arm would hurt so the doctor said it was probably Tendinitis so she gave her a few exercises to do. Now her joints in her wrist, knees, ankles and toes sometimes hurt. Doctors still don’t know what it could be. Any ideas??

There’s no swelling, isn’t sore at all when touched or prodded, and there’s no pain in my upper or lower arm.
It’s a sharp pain that feels like it’s somewhere inbetween all off the bony spots at the end of your elbow,
It is only in my left elbow (and I’m right handed).
It only happens when it’s almost completely bent. I’ve tried the tests for Tennis elbow that I found online, and get no pain from that. Don’t get any pain from any other movement except for bending my elbow (such as putting my purse over my shoulder, or putting a jacket on, etc)
I’ve had it on and off for about a week, and it only got worse yesterday, and it’s starting to become a dull constant pain as of today.

I would GREATLY appreciate any help/suggestions/diagnoses/advice!!
Since my joint/pain doctor didn’t have any openings until OCTOBER.

I have the above mentioned type of pain only on the LEFT side, starting from the back of the head-shoulder joint-elbow. Pain has never extended beyond the elbow. Started six months ago. There is also increase in pain through the months since the start. I am inactive most during the day only walk inside the house and do not involve in any exercises. There is slight reduction in pain if i do involve in walking or work. I feel that the pain is only in ONE of the above mentioned areas and not all places at a time. I have experimented while sleeping through the months and found that I have less pain while sleeping with my left shoulder down on the mattress and fall asleep. Sleeping on the back or turning to the right is painful and i can’t fall asleep. I never spend more than 1-and-a-half hours at my computer everyday. I am sure that i have not sustained any physical injuries in the area. I am 61, weigh 90 kg (198 lbs), 5ft 8 in (173 cm) tall, right handed, heavy built man. I’m not diabetic and recent ECG results have shown that my heart is in very good condition.
My past medical history includes a successful lamenectomy ( or laminectomy) surgery in the lumbar spine area 5 years ago. I have completely recovered from the same.
I have furnished the best details i know about my problem.
Please help me and give me advice.

I am desperate to figure out what is going on with me. I am a 37 year old female and about a week ago I started gettig a sore and stiff feeling in my hips, it has progressed rapidly to my ankles (now slightly swollen) also my knees and shoulders and elbow joints. What could cause such pain in all my joints. I can not imagine it is arthritis at my age and so sudden. Could it be a pinched nerve or a virus? it seems to be the worse when i am laying in bed at night and unbearable when rising in the morning. I cannot sleep because of the pain. It does seem to get slightly better when I am up walking around. Any ideas?

my hips, knees, wrists, elbows and shoulders. Recently this started when I began a new exercise video. I expected my knees, but not the others. Actually, I haven’t even watched the video in days because of my pain. It’s dull, but continuous. I don’t want to go to the doctor about it, unless it seems absolutely necessary. I have had tendonitis in my wrists before and bursitis in my hips. I’m still in my 20′s. Are there any professional opinions out there?

I have seen my personal physician, a hand surgeon, a chiropractor, and a rheumatologist for this, and none of them can figure out what is wrong with me. I have been tested twice for Lyme, lupus, and arthritis, and all three have come back negative both times. I’m a 22 year old female with no history of severe injury or health problems.

Several months ago the joints on the left side of my body suddenly started to hurt. Most affected were my left wrist and knee, both of which have been injured in the past – tendonitis in my wrist two years ago, mild knee injury six months ago, but neither had given me problems till then. Also affected were my shoulder, elbow, knuckles, and ankle. The pain comes and goes in waves. Exercise and movement seem to make it worse, though staying still does not make it better. It gets worse all the time despite my taking a prescription anti inflammatory every day. The doctors have given me no painkillers. (Out of room for question, will add more details.)
It is severe to the point where I get very little sleep anymore, and have little appetite. I’ve lost five pounds in the last three days (I have very fast metabolism, but this is still abnormal for me). It does not hurt all the time, but when it does I am unable to focus and generally incapacitated if I am at work (I am a secretary). I have been limping regularly as putting weight on my left leg seems to make it worse. In the last few days my right leg has also started hurting, and the pain has started to spread out from the knees all the way to my feet and groin. My right arm is completely fine so far.

I’ve no idea if it’s relevant, but I do have other chronic health problems. I have mild-moderate asthma, vocal chord dysfunction, chronic dry eye, and acid reflux. I have suffered from a chronic stiff neck accompanied by pain for years, though I’ve always assumed that was caused by stress.

If anyone has any idea what might be causing this pain, please tell me. Thank you.
Appropriately enough, I have forgotten to mention a few other symptoms that I have been experiencing: short-term memory loss, difficulty concentrating, and confusion/disorientation, as well as muscle spasms and occasional pins-and-needles tingling in my fingertips. I’ve no idea if all of this is related or perhaps just due to sleep deprivation. The rheumatologist also mentioned to me that my blood tests showed that there is no inflammation.

The rheumatologist suggested that my pain is caused by tendinitis, though he gave no explanation as to how I would suddenly develop tendinitis all over my body without having engaged in any notable physical activity. There is no swelling or other outward physical symptoms, and my family has been very unsupporting, implying that I may be faking this for attention – this is incredibly difficult to deal with and I’m desperate to find a solution. I appreciate the suggestions so far, thanks very much to all who can help.

I’m 23 year old. One month ago I started having joint pain without swelling (knee, wrist, elbow, ankle) after waking up in the morning. It’s so hard for me to wake up and I feel like I’ve never slept at all. Then my body is weak and tired for the whole day. I’ve checked my blood (Calcicum, ASLO, RF, TSH, T4, VSS, GGT), urine and taken X-ray of all my joints. The results are all good. I’ve tried to rest and exercise regularly but I still could not recover. All the doctors I have visited told me that my symptoms are caused by stress. Is it true ? I don’t think my life is too stressful to make me sick like that. Pls help me. I feel so bad because I could not start my work due to my weakness.

I give you my historical heaIth. I’ve had rheumatis fever when I was 13 year old. I’ve taken penicillin one table per day until now. 3 years ago I’ve cut my tonsil because it caused me sore throat all the time. After this operation, my sore throat is not too serious but I still have everyday.
