recently i started doing dumbbell flys, and i felt pain the first time. it was my chest, i could not even cross my arms, thats how much soreness there was. I knew it was good that i had soreness, pain=gain. On my second one I just felt soreness in my arms, where my elbow joint is. I’m on the 5th time, and its the same thing, only my arms are sore, not my chest anymore. I do 4×8 rep of flys. I dont know why there is no pain anymore, only the first time there was. Also note i struggled the first time, and now i dont struggle. I even increased to 4×10 rep now, and still no pain in my chest area. Am i doing it wrong or something? I want to feel soreness in my chest, i dont feel satisfied no having any soreness in the part i want worked out…help

My school’s tennis season is coming up and i’m sure i’ll make varsity, but how should I start getting ready for the season? Im pretty sure i’m out of shape since I didn’t join any winter sports, and all i’ve eaten was fastfood and junkfood. I’ve also started driving so I hardly walk nowadays. How should I start getting ready? Any tips on exercises or routines I should do? Forearm preparation tips?

I’m going hiking in Costa Rica next week and a little extra protection would make me feel better. Anyone have a suggestion for a brace or some sort of support? I’ve checked drug stores, Target & Sport Authority and I can’t find anything that I think would work for this particular issue. Most things are for ‘Tennis Elbow" or just an ace bandage. Suggestions?

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. For about 2 months I have had tennis elbow. I’m wanting to know what people have tried & tested, & what actually helped them to overcome the pain. I’m thinking of trying accupuncture…has this worked for anyone or is tennis elbow something that just comes& goes with time? I’m only 30-is it strange to get this at this age?

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. My knees are terrible, moreso my right one. Whenever I bend them, they crack. If I make a bicycle motion with my leg, my right knee cracks every time and it feels terrible. I can’t keep it bent for long periods of time (thats what hurts the most), especially when I’m sitting "pretzel style". I constantly feel like I have to straighten my leg when I’m sitting down, and I really never noticed I do it quite often until recently.
I’m only 17 years old! Freshman year I had a stability brace on my knee for a while, but I don’t remember the doctor every saying what exactly was wrong. That or I just don’t remember.
I really haven’t been paying much attention to this because I have tennis elbow and radial tunnel syndrom in my right elbow and I’ve been going to therapy for that and may have to have surgery soon! I don’t even play sports =/ but I guess the elbow can be from being a musician. But not the knee!!
Anyone know what might be wrong? It hurts mostly on the outside. =/

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. I weight train regularly from 2-3 time a week. The injury occurred when I was using of those fitness wheels ( wheel with a handle bar on each side) and on the first rep my right elbow (primary arm) seized up with stiffness and pain. I’m only 22…could my injury be tennis elbow?
Its been about 2 weeks now and the pain come up every now and then during the day, though less severe.
If you were ever active in wrestling its the same pain you get after doing a lot of pulling, from take downs etc. Sharp pain on the inside of the elbow.
Any help from someone with experience in this area would be much appreciated!

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. I don’t know what kind of drug test they will be performing, but I’m on ibuprofen 800 for my tennis elbow pain. Would the drug test test for ibuprofen? Can I ask the employer what kind of test they are testing? Thanks.

Kim Aron Personal Trainer, writer, blogger, networker and coach. I’m a senior in high school, playing my last year of competitive tennis before college. I’ve had a fairly successful high school tennis career, with two State tournaments and two Regional titles. However, this year, the challenge matches have been tough, and I’m one among four girls who are challenging for the fourth doubles position on Varsity.
My coach says that the only thing keeping me from taking the spot is that my new spin serve isn’t consistent yet. So, I’ve been practicing at least one to two hours daily, just working on my serve. However, my elbow and wrist are starting to get really painful tendinitis as a result of this vigorous practice.
I’ve been wearing a brace, and I feel like I should stop and take a break for a while, but I’m also afraid if I stop practicing for the time it would take my injuries to heal, I’ll fall behind the other contenders for the Varsity spot. I have to do something, because my game gets worse as the injury gets more painful.
Any ideas?
