about 7 months ago i was diagnosed with tennis elbow and had a steroid shot by my doctor.. after that my elbow got alot worse, and the skin where i had the shot lost all colour, became really thin and the muscle around my joint pretty much dissapeared! i have now had immense pain in my elbow. The bony bit of my elbow is extremely painful to touch, my forearm aches and is painful, underneath my elbow is also sore and the crease where my arm bends is also sore. I also cannot straighten my arm without severe pain and then rebending when i do get it straight is agony, i have been having ultasound physio and an arm clasp with no help whatsoever! I also cant get that hand warm.. no matter how much i try and use it and not compensate, my hand is so cold it hurts me. I am going for an MRI scan in a week and im really scared.. i dont know what to expect and i dont know if they will say i need surgery… Im an 18 year old girl who has done martial arts all my life.. could that be the cause??
someone please help me with this?? suggestions/ advice or experiences.
So yeah, I had tennis elbow (never played tennis in my life, funnily enough) it was from hyper extending + carrying extremely heavy objects in an extremely stupid way…
Anyway I pretty much ignored it, got on with life…Now (a week later) my forearm is extremely HOTand SWOLLEN (mainly the large muscle between elbow & wrist) and keeps going ‘dead’ (wrist too) and looks a little bruised (not external bruising from any kind of trauma) on inside forearm….
Not going back to physio! (just recovered from knee surgery) so looking for some advice or just hearing from anyone who has had anything similar. Thanks
i have had tennis elbow symptoms for nearly 6 months now, i went to the docs and had a shot (cortizone) and it went from bad to worse, the shot made my skin go really really thin and almost transparent. the pain has gotten worse and now is around the back of my elbow, in my bicep and down my wrist. the muscle above my elbow has completely gone and the pain is terrible. I have gone to a physio who has got me doing exercises to straighten it. although it hurts i do them, but the pain is even worse now aswell.
i am on a surgeons waiting list but that has beena couple months itself!
i dont know what else to do, im sick of my arm hurting.
what exacally is wrong? and what else can i do?
i got it from years of martial arts.. punching. if it has been 6 months and it hasnt healed, will it ever? im in soo much agony
I am suffering with tennis elbow and doing physio. at the first week and taking Ibuprofen (anti inflammation). Throughout this rehabilation process, should I continue Ice treatment or should I do hot treatment?). How many time per day?
back to zero. No body knows the answer?
