I am a 14 year old lefty and pitch for my travel team, but when I throw, a little portion of my inner elbow muscle aches and makes my arm feel like jello. I have iced, headed, and used bengay on it to try and ease the pain, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Does anybody have any ideas or solutions?

I am 14 and i don’t usually pitch but when I start to throw a lot my ligament in my elbow hurts REAL bad, to the point where I cant even hold my arm up anymore. My coach says its because i’m not following through.
1) Does anybody have any additional information on what i’m doing wrong?
2) How do i stretch it/rest it so it stops hurting?
3) Should i see a doctor?

I’m 15 yrs old and I’ve been a pitcher all my life. but recently, when i pitch, my inner elbow starts to get sore after about 2 or 3 innings.
right now I’m just trying to play through it and hope that maybe its growing pains. Any suggestions for why my elbow could be hurting would be nice.
oh yeah, i don’t throw side arm

Last, year I played catcher and pitcher on my baseball team and the inside of my elbow began to hurt terribly when i would pitch. I assumed it was just sore from throwing to second base and I finished the season. But, now when baseball started this year my elbow still hurts when I throw more than 15 pitches. I don’t throw curveballs often so I know that’s not the case. Does anyone know he problem or experienced this before?

I need to use it for softball in an hour. I think I sprained it or something because from my elbow up (the backside of it, the side that’s not facing my body) hurts really badly, but I need to pitch in an hour and nobody else on my team knows how to pitch.
No ibuprofin for me! I throw up when I take crap like that!

I play baseball, as a pitcher and whenever I throw my elbow hurts a little bit. I am able to pitch, but by the 2nd or 3rd inning my arm is dying. Its like all the energy is leeched out of my elbow. It did the same thing last year, and I did not play baseball for an entire year, but when I got right back to playing it immediatly hurt. I went to the docter but they said nothing apparent was wrong with it. How can this be if I can feel it and it’s affecting my game. What is wrong with it?

I play a lot of baseball over the course of the year, and I have had a problem with the inside of my elbow slightly below the wide part of the bone. It tends to get inflamed, which makes it sore. I notice it when making long throws. I play outfield and do not pitch if that helps. Thanks.
I play a lot of baseball. OF only. No pitching. And when making long throws I’ve noticed it gets a little sore. Sometimes it gets inflamed there. Any idea what the exact cause would be or how to heal it? Thanks.

I play baseball and I pitch. But according to my friend, I threw straight over the top last year, for both playing catch and pitching, but now this year says that I throw a little sidearmed for catch and still over the top pitching.
A few weeks ago, I pitched and left the game, and the next day, there was a slight pain, feeling as if it was just under my elbow, like there was a bruise on it, but didn’t hurt when I pressed on it. Only when I threw again or any other rapid arm movements.
I rested for about 2 weeks, and it got a little better, only I had summer tryouts yesterday. Right after I played catch and long toss, it came back as strong as ever.
Okay, so if this is tennis elbow (maybe b/c my throw is like the motion of swinging a racket), tell me. If you also know any treatments that do not relate to surgery or pills, please inform me of that as well. I heard you should rest it and ice it, but is that the best thing to do? It might be, but I don’t want to pitch and tear it, forcing me to do surgery, if my healing process is not complete.
So please. I don’t want to waste my baseball days while I’m still young. I’m only 17, and I don’t know if this should be happening. Please tell me the most effective way of self-treatment and how long it will be until I can safely throw a baseball hard again.
Thanks.
