Im 14 years old 5’8" and 118 pounds. I was wondering what can i do to improve my vertical jump. I can jump between 30 and 32 inches already and my standing reach is roughly 7’4". I am just about 1/2 inch away from getting rim on 10′. What can I do to jump higher and be able to get rim and even be able to dunk at least a tennis ball by the end of the year?
I’ve been working out, pretty steady for a month or so. I find that my joints are getting sore from my workouts (feels like tendinitis). I’m feeling it in my left elbow on a consistent basis. I’ve been checking my workout form, and everything seems to be by the book (no improper strain on tendons or joints). I take no supplements whatsoever, just good ol’ fashioned high protein/carb foods after my workouts. I hear that there are natural supplements out there that people take to prevent joint pain, but I dunno…I’m not a pill guy. Any suggestions on what I should do?

For the past month my elbows have been really sore. they usually start to get sore during wrestling practice, or during workouts. Now its about everything. even throwing a football for a certain amount of time causes them pain. its like a piercing pain in my elbow joints. once the pain starts, it continues if i continue what ever im doing, and still continues for an hour after i stop. its gotten so bad that at some points, i cant even bend my elbows up, feels like im carrying 200 pound dumbells. i dont know what is wrong with them. is this normal? or did i tear something in my elbow joints?
yes, both elbows lol.
My arm is swollen. My right arm, starting at about my elbow going up halfway into my triceps (upper arm).
I recently started working out really hard. I had a sore triceps 2 days ago. The pain has gone away and I have pretty good mobility with that arm again. Today I noticed my arm starting at about my elbow going up halfway into my triceps (upper arm) was swollen. There was no pain and I wouldn’t have known it was there if I didn’t touch it by accident.
I went to the gym again today and did workouts that didn’t involve stretching or flexing my triceps or upper arm. It has since then become more swollen and is now slightly painful due to the swelling.
The muscle itself doesn’t hurt at all. Neither does the joint or bone anywhere on that arm. The skin is completely normal besides being stretched tight a little bit. That arm is the same temperature to touch as the other.
I’ve researched (Googled) everything I can think and haven’t come up with anything.
If anyone has heard or this or has any idea what it can be please let me know.
Don’t answer with just “Go to the doctor”.

I believe I have whats called tendinitis in my elbows. Its not constant pain or anything but when I workout my triceps I notice the discomfort especially when doing skull crushers and triceps extensions with heavy weights (4 – 8 reps). I believe I got this from doing bad form with these exercises in the past.
What are my options to relieve this pain during these exercises so I can the best results from my workouts?

I run long distance, but I will be joining tennis so I need to start sprinting. What exercises are good training the muscles that you use when sprinting exercises that i can do on a track-not machines). How many sprints should I do in one workout? How far should I sprint? I will be running on my high schools track so I would like these that I can do on a track. Thank you!
tennis players, men and women, both have extremely long stamina and can run and play it seems like forever. they are in very good shape. do any of you know a usual workout they do to get fit and in shape? like how long do they run in one session to stay fit. what’s their workouts? im trying to get fit, and it seems to me, if i want to get in incredible shape, just follow the workouts of tennis players.
I quit playing racquetball about a month ago when pain got pretty bad. (It had been slowly progressing for a few weeks) I continued to lift weights for 2 weeks. My elbow wasn’t getting any better so I stopped that too. At this point It has been 10 days with none of the above activity. During this time and even prior to that I had tried ice a few times a day and daypro (anti-inflammatory). Still no change. I even use my computer mouse with my left hand since that seems to irritate it as well. I open doors, lift things, whatever… with my left now. When will this go away? When should I start strengthening excercises? When should I start stretching. I have seen a few web sites. I am interested in hearing personal experiences. Please help. I miss my workouts/sports!!!!! On a side note. If any of you are considering P90X- the infommercial workout program- DO IT!!! Incredible results but definitely not easy.
Last fall, I played a little too much tennis and developed tendinitis in my right wrist and began to see a slight hint of tennis elbow, but fortunatley stopped and immobilized my arm before anything permanent could set in. Now that spring is coming, I’m going to start playing tennis a lot and I’m wondering what sort of vitamins and/or excersizes and/or anything I can do to keep my arms and joint strong and healthy. I currently take a normal multivitamin, a omega-3 complex and a glucosamine/chondroitin complex. Is there anything else I can be taking to strengthen tendins/muscles/connective tissue/bones? Also, what sort of excersizes, workouts or warm ups can you reccomend for me?
